Good TeaDay everyone. I hope you will drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed whether or not we were TeaSnobs. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic takes a new perspective on TeaSnobbery. How do you think OTHERS view your level of TeaSnobbery, be honest, AND grin and bear it! Oh, and have fun with this topic.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Where's the option for questioning my sexual orientation for even drinking tea? Peoria has to be one of the largest redneck towns in the nation.
Currently drinking 2007 Mengku Mu Ye Chun 001
I really hate the "save" function I always seem to hit instead of "submit"

Re: Saturday TeaDay 11/21/09 You are such a TeaSnob IMHO?
I voted option 2 "what's wrong with tea from the store?"
Thing is most people in Britain just don't get it... tea to them is "tea" - bagged, milk, and possibly sugar. Some of my friends love coming round for interesting tea, other people I meet just think I'm weird!
This morning in my cup - Mrs Liu's "Hong Yun" (Red Cloud) Yunnan Black Tea from East Teas/Postcard Teas - London.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Most people around me are not aware of the price difference between grocery tea and boutique tea. Neither are they aware of price of yixing or international parcel postage from China. So my answer is no, I don't think anyone thinks I am tea snob.

When people don't understand tea, anything that would deviate from a tea bag from the grocery store would leave you to be considered a tea snob. So TeaSnob am I!
Sencha in my cup this morning. I think I need to change over to something different for a while so I enjoy this even more, but nah!
Have a great tea weekend!

Straddling between 3 and 4, I finally chose number 4.
In a country where espresso rules, expensive loose leaf tea spooks.. and a gaiwan looks like a weird, way too bigger coffee cup...
Enjoy your weekend!

None of the above. Nobody, and I mean nobody here, gives a rats patoose over my drinking tea, having teaware, or how much it costs. Really.
Even the rednecks drink high-end coffee and microbrew beer And this is a small town.
My family is mostly UK-derived. Tea drinking is taken for what it is, a social institution among the educated, or at least culturally sophisticated.
No gives a twaddle, there are no hints of mockery etc. Its simply below the radar screen.
No-name estate Ceylon in my mug for starters. Has not a molecule of teasnobbery in it.

I think people wonder why tea from the store isn't good enough, but if they TRIED something different, they would be sure to like it.
People in my area are wine-obsessed, so tea isn't even really a topic that anyone discusses. So I just drink my tea and have my discussions here on TeaChat, where people appreciate it.
Nilgiri Tiger Hills in my cup this morning. I haven't been drinking enough tea lately and started feeling like I was getting a cold, so I'm loading up on the tea to help either combat it or soothe it.

#4 my gosh, all that tea and teaware, you are such a TeaSnob?
I picked number 4 because it includes teaware. They are mostly shocked at pricey teaware that leaks. Heh.
In my cup this morning Mao Feng Noir from Tao of Tea.

Could we tone down all the REDNECK chatter? I am from Eastern N.C.
Cold Sencha was in the Theme Park 32oz cup today and some Darjeeling that I got from Victoria will be in the Gas Station 20oz thermo cup tonight. I guess this redneck is becoming a Tea Snob because the grocery store tea will not do anymore.....Have a great weekend!

How about the option where people find it cool and fascinating, and want to know more?

Nantou Four Seasons in my cup. Near the last of an excellent batch.
>Could we tone down all the REDNECK chatter?
You know you're a Redneck-Teasnob when you drink...
>Cold Sencha in the Theme Park 32oz cup
Cold Sencha: the new 'Sweet Tea'.

We cut out all the southern sweet tea along time ago but I do love cold Sencha. I do take my cold tea with me during the day in a big cup but at night I like to use my nice teawares. Actually the big cup is from Seaworld
I hate to be snob when it comes to my tea but what other choice do I have?

My friends and family accept my tea obsession with the indulgent smiles they usually reserve for toddlers. I do bring it on myself sometimes though, I admit, by doing things like enthusing over a spent tea leaf and insisting that others look at it; or by inviting them to smell a new tea.
Long Jing this morning and then Chai in the afternoon. I suspect tonight will be brightened with an Assam that I got from Murchies teashop in Victoria during a recent visit.

Pretty much viewed as a TeaSnob around here. I mean people ask, "where can I get that tea?" And I tell them, "oh, you can't buy that here, not in this county, not in this state, not even in this country, you have to import from Japan (or China, etc)." They just look at me all befuddled like I am from another planet.

Great TD in progress. Began with a tasting of Yame Fukamushi from Den's. Followed by home roasted mugi/genmai. And just finished a Matcha tasting with Yame Matcha from Zencha with DW.
Next up .........
