Now that I am retired, have the free time and disposable income to enjoy myself, I find my doctors and my wife insisting that I not smoke, drink, or eat too adventurously. That leaves tea as one of the few acceptable indulgences. I hope I can, with the help of people like you, develop the palate to enjoy tea with the enthusiasm it deserves.
At this point I seem to prefer the bolder taste of black teas, but I'm willing to be broad minded on the subject.

Re: Hello From Memphis
Welcome Bill, nice to have you with us. There are plenty of black teas to choose from and then slowly venture out from there. How do you feel about Darjeelings?

Re: Hello From Memphis
I tried a sample of Adagio's Darjeeling #22 and I liked it enough to order a 4 oz tin. I admit that I like a heavier black though. I just received a sample of the Yunnan Noir, but haven't tried it yet. I'm letting my mouth recover from the Earl Grey. lol

I love the Yunnan Noir! How are you brewing the Darj 22?
The Black Pearls are very good too.

You came to the right place to learn about teas and to be pointed in all different directions from all the numerous 'teafactions' on TC ...

Lots to learn, have fun and enjoy your tea.

Welcome!
We can get you in all kinds of trouble without smoking, drinking, or eating...well, ok, there will be drinking...but only tea!
Spend a little time (and $ with us) and your wife might start encouraging you to take up smoking Cuban cigars to save money!!!
Have fun!

What does 'adventurously' mean? Does not compute.
If you have chronic health problems and are on medication like many retirees, you may want to rethink tea-drinking because of the caffeine effect on cardiovascular system and on certain medications. Maybe check with your doctor first.
