Usually I finish up the day with a rooibos or honeybush.

My last tea of the day is almost always an oolong.

Started my day today with: Himalaya Gold 2009 from Mariage Frères.

Have a nice day everyone!

Last tea of the day lately has been sencha or dan cong. Yummies!

Have a good Tuesday everyone!

It varies with the Season:
once the spring harvest is safely here it will be Anxi TKY for a month or two;

Summer it is always Dan Cong outside in the garden (fine weather permitting,
and possibly with the Chao Zhou stove, if I start early enough);

When the Autumn Frosts arrive only Wuyi YanCha can do the trick. but I have to be careful not to overdo it, lest the sleep gods desert me!;

Late winter sees me trying them all in rotation whilst I contemplate, dream and ponder over new season purchases!

It changes with my mood. It is never red, and it usually isn't pu. Sometimes it's sencha or genmaicha w/matcha, other times it could be white or yellow or the difficult-to-classify Ya Bao. Sometimes, on holidays with the family around, it might be a tasting of dancong or gyokuro. On difficult days it could be herbal.

Xiang Hua TGY this morning. Finished yesterday with Sencha Kuradashi.

Last tea of the day is usually an oolong. Sometimes I like to have a black, though--the caffeine helps me sleep. Odd, I know.

Feeling a bit under the weather today, so there will be much tea consumed when I pull myself out of my chair. Must stave off the chills and a sore throat, after all.

The UPS man brightened up my day by delivering my new chawan/bowls from Mahoggle! Currently boggling at the sheer size of 'em!

My very last tea is usually what I brew in late evening, to help me relax and get a good sleep. That's always herbal for me these days. Sometimes I mix many restful herbs together, sometimes one or two. Lately I have been mixing good quality lavender and chamomile together ... the nice things about these herbs is that they are complementary: their different qualities complement one another. Both are herbs that uplift and relax at the same time. The oils in both herbs are healthful and healing. Try it.

But, given that last cup -- during the day I pick one tea and steep and re-steep. I don't change unless I am particularly dissatisfied with the tea, which is rare. Today I am drinking and savouring an Oriental Beauty ... ummmm

Good morning everyone!
For me, it is either a white (silver needle or white peony) or a mixture of chamomile, lavender, and calendula.
I used to drink puerh after dinner and onward a bit after, but even with 15+ yrs age, my sweetheart and I noticed some difficulty w/ sleep - so mostly stopped that. Also, puerh can be quite drying for us.

Hey brlarson - have you been drinking Ya Bao for long? I'm very curious about this "difficult to classify" tea. Can you share what you know about it, your experience with it, etc? I'd love to hear.
:D
Good day to all!!

I don't have any favorite last tea. Usually sencha, gyokuro, Darjeeling or Keemun, sometimes matcha.

Kanro gyokuro in a few minutes.

"Three Cups of Tea" by Greg Mortenson.

Why?

It details a better way to be in the world.

Love reading all your answers to this great question! With the weather cooling down here, it is so "warming" to think of my 'chatter friends winding down their busy days with warm cups of tea.

Lately my last tea is frequently Tulsi...so yummy and calming and my son and DH will usually have some too...kind of a nice way to end our day. Other evenings I will have a cup of 3rd steep black (I think Chip calls these later steeps SLT - soggy leaf tea)...not much caffeine, but still warm and slightly tea-flavored.

Today at breakfast some lovely Neela from Tao of Tea. Later my tea buddy at work made Mate Vana and we had our own version of Mate Latte, mmmmm. This afternoon I'm having a nice Den's Fukamushi (sp?, can't remember where all the vowels go in that one!).

Warmly,
Dreamer

My last tea of the day is usually an herbal, and lately it's been a tasty echinacea.

But sometimes I just don't care, and I'll have a good, strong, black, tea at like 11 pm lol :shock:
Then I'll stay up watching movies.
Honestly though, caffeine doesn't affect me too much. So it's not that hard for me to sleep after a strong tea.

Hi Seeker!

I've been keeping Ya Bao around for the last year or so. It is a sheng pu-erh that is entirely buds from aged wild arbor trees, so it is a `green/raw' pu-erh whose look and taste is more akin to a white tea. It's taste is more delicate than Yin Zhen, with hints of vanilla and citrus in the nose. The buds are lovely and the liquor has a frail beauty to it.

It's available from Royal Puer and Teaspring, which are either the same company or else there is a strong relationship between them.
