Wednesday TeaDay 11/25/09 Thank you?

by Chip » Nov 25th, '09, 02:25

Good TeaDay everyone. Please stop by and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed "last tea of the day." You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaRoom poll and discussion topic. Will you or won't you be celebrating Thanksgiving Day tomorrow (or did you in Canada in October)? Home ... or away? Traditional ... nontradtional? Etc.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Yep,.. I'll celebrate any holiday that includes a big meal.

Currently drinking some random cheap pu-erh thats been previously steamed apart and is residing in a bowl within my humidor.

Yup.... immediate family and one friend of the family. The typical turkey and trimmings.

Happy Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating it.

best,

Yes, DH and I attend a huge family dinner at my Sister-In-Law's house. There will be over 20 of us. I make my signature green beans, and we take a few other things along. I've been getting off pretty easy for awhile now with my "broken oven" excuse, heh.

In my cup this morning the last bit of Mariage Freres Himalayan Gold.
Sad to see the last of this one.

Have a nice day everyone!!

Yes, but with just my parents this year. Neither brother will be coming up. We're still going to do the turkey-and-dressing routine, set the table with linens and china, silver and candles, though.

Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast tea in the pot this morning.

Yes, definitely. Traditional dinner at my parents house with the entire family, followed by copious amounts of tea to ward off "that sinking feeling" from eating too much turkey

Yunnan Gold for breakfast, but the travel kit is prepped with Muzha TKY, Dancong "Lan Xiang", BaoZhong (FLT Farmer's Choice), a couple of Puerhs, and a handful of Silver needles for good measure :D Gonna be a GREAT TeaDay!

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate/celebrated and Happy TeaDay to all.

Yes!
Usually it's just my husband, daughter, and my in-laws because I generally don't have the Friday after T-giving off. But this year we are traveling to my mom's house about 300 miles away and having dinner with her, my brother and his family, and my other brother. I'm really looking forward to it!

The last of my TeaSource Nilgiri Glendale FOP was in my cup this morning.

Sort of. My boyfriend and I are heading up to my brother's house to eat with him, his girlfriend, her father, and my mother. I don't really want to, but eh. I've not got much holiday spirit, and on top of that I'm sick and have a ton of writing to do for school! At least there will be pie and cranberry sauce.

In my cup: BirdPick's Fujian Supreme oolong. It's good enough for essay writing.

Should be a very nice Thanksgiving with lots of family. Lots of traditional turkey and some nontradtitional surprises ... and lots to be thankful for. :D

Began the TD with Hatsumi from O-Cha. SweeTea did not miss her fair share while Gandalf and Wulong got their fair share of treats instead.

Enjoy your TD everyone.

Not going to be with my family as usual - due to sister's work schedule, we combined Thksgvg w/ Halloween - interesting. :?
So, I'll be with my sweetheart, her father and his partner and her family this time. It'll be different and good.
Very, very mixed feelings about Thksgvg - what it is in honor of and what was then done to the indigenous peoples of these lands - and on the other hand, the opportunity to gather, in gratitude (though perhaps in pure gluttony for some), to break bread together, celebrate, join hands, drink tea, sing, dance, love. hmmm. I think this year, I will meditate on the legacy of the past, what that may mean, the opportunities of now, and how considering these things deeply, I might contribute toward some healing, betterment, or kindness...

My second tea today (the first, of course, was matcha  ) is Baochong premium from Teance.

Cheers.
