Friday TeaDay 11/27/09 Black Friday or Black TeaDay?

by Chip » Nov 27th, '09, 00:22

Happy "Black Friday" everyone. Please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout Black Friday.

Yesterday we discussed what we were thankful for in regards to TeaChat. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic ... sort of. Today in the USA, we refer to as "Black Friday," the Friday after Thanksgiving. Traditionally this is the big beginning of the Christmas/holiday shopping season here in the USA.

So, today, will you shop for tea, teaware, or something else because it is Black Friday... or another reason? Please share.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Are there any Black Friday deals offered at many tea vendors? I'm actually being quite serious about this...*sigh* if only places like Hou De had Black Friday 20% off deals...I would be a very, very, very poor man

I voted definitely not.
I'd have to change my vote if there were online tea/teaware sales!
Especially chawan or matcha -
20% off, oh yeah. I'd be shoppin'.
:D

will definitely be shopping, but probably not for teaware. Since tomorrow is a day off, I'll probably try to get a jump on my xmas shopping by doing a little online. Between Etsy and Amazon, I think I have all the bases covered.

Thought I'd share in teaday today. I Just moved back to CO and my tea is being shipped to me. I forgot to bring any along.

In my desperation I searched through my belongings hoping maybe something survived. I found:

So that's what I'm drinking today.

I won't be doing any black Friday shopping, but good luck to those who do. It's dangerous out there.

I can't stand massive crowds when shopping. Or at least, I don't like driving in them. If somebody else is taking the brunt of the driving stress, then I'm generally ok! haha

My parents are in town, and we're going to be taking it easy today. We'll probably make it up to one of the local state parks, and maybe swing by a smaller 'antique' furniture store that I've wanted to look at. I suppose I also might do some browsing online, but I've already bought most of my gifts for Christmas.

I feel sorry for the people who got up really early today in this area. A quick (but heavy) storm rolled through the area from about 4am to 6am this morning, probably right as people were lined up for all the stores to open. D'oh!

But I'm nice and dry in my apartment this morning and enjoying some cooked pu'erh from Seven Cups. Mmmmmm.

Have a wonderful TeaDay everybody!

Boy, I wish!

I whole-heartedly believe that everyone at least one week in their life, should have to work retail over a holiday! Perhaps then there would be a little more understanding and compassion while waiting in those long lines, or when one becomes impatient with a sales person or... !

Yea, I work retail and it can be the pits, especially today. But for the most part I am a people person and just try to have fun.

Delish Fuji Super Premium w/the mod this morn and a great start to my TeaDay! So to those out shopping, shop til you drop, but be sure to stop and drink your tea.

Have a TEArrific TeaDay today.

I plan to run down to the local HagiMart, TokonameMart, and BankoMart, then TeaMart, searching out great bargains in premium tea and teaware ... good thing they are open 24 hours a day. OK, no real Black Friday plans ...

Began the TeaDay with Zencha Sencha Fukamushi Fuji Super Premium with DW, long name for a great sencha. Brewed in a Momiji Kyusu and served up in some Seigan Blue Hagi.

No shopping for me. I'll be driving all day today, tomorrow and Sunday.

This morning we're enjoying more yancha, Ban Tian Yao from Hou de.

I am shopping for tea gifts for everyone on my list today. So far, I've got a bunch of LibreTea tea glasses from www.libretea.com.

I'm working on specific individual teas for everyone based on their likes & dislikes. Wish me luck. :-)

I'm curently drinking Magnolia Oolong from Infusions of Tea.

Maybe Teavana has some good deals, eh, probably not.

Looking at Hatsumi from O-Cha as my next tea. Perhaps a Black tea should be on the line up for Black Friday.

Went to IKEA and picked up a kitchen cart (great deal :D ). There were about 50 people waiting in line when we arrived. IKEA was nice for letting people waiting indoors. :) We browsed through tea/coffee ware section, but didn't find anything we need/like. Short line at check out, which is much better than some weekends.

Having aged Dian Hong today. Great for cool morning.
