Hi and an amazing fact

Hi All

I'm new to the forum hailing from London, England.

England, a country of roughly 60 million population drinks, wait for it... 60.2 billion cups of tea a year! Unbelievable.

I was just saying to my friend this morning that so many people in Engalnd drink tea continuously, but very few people actually know anything about it and usually it's just a teabag in a mug with milk.

I am loving discovering tea. I am still quite new and I am learning the basic types: white, green, assam, ceylon, lapsong ect. I am trying a few special blends that i buy from tea-houses.

I am looking forward to posting and discovering new types of tea to try!

I was fortunate to get to visit London twice in the early 80's...a favorite memory was having tea in the lobby of a lovely old hotel...I don't remember details about the event, just that the tea and snacks were delightful and the whole thing was a wonderful pick-me-up.
