Not sure what the mark says but was reassured that it is antique by the seller.
Looks like Chaozhou pot not yixing. Not sure how old it is but if is CZ and they said it's yixing than it's probably not as old as stated.

Factory 1 Shuiping I newly purchased...

- Hongni/ Qinshuini mix?
- 70-80ml
- '77-82 green label period
- Medium-walled, probably med-fired - not metallic ringing
- Pours in 12 sec
- Japanese auction website at approx. $70 (great find!)
- Will try Gaoshan first

I already removed the sticker, gently washed with soft toothbrush and now slowly boiling with Li shan tea leaves.
Craftsmanship is rather poor as expected. Pour won't completely stop when I cover the top hole of the lid, and "cracks", or unsmoothened lines inside the pot. But at least the clay should be good and the size is ideal for my twice to 3 times a day solo session :P

Updated photos of 90ml 1940's shui ping after a couple dozen uses with dry/natural/trad puerh. It's 50% larger than what I normally use for solo drinking so it doesn't get used every day. I'm gonna start using lower leaf to water ratio with this pot so that it gets used more often.

Scored this very flat unused 80's pinzini and it makes a glorious pot of yancha! :D

thats a zini no.1 clay FaXiang Hu by Chen Ju Fang in the background
Spectacular!!
I would love to have one for me,
this teapot in particular, with which
is it convenient to elaborate?
I found a website in Germany:
https://shop.chadao.de/product_info.php ... 00-07.html
I do not see many photos, and neither
the stamp at its base, I do not know if any
partner knows or has made purchases
here, in the "https: It is safe"
I could use 70ml. How is it going
I do not know its authenticity, if it is modern,
period, no idea, only that matter from China.

By the way, compliment these beautiful teapots.

Thanks for sharing.

@chrl42, thanks! Its definetly my favorite style of shui ping. I'd probably have a bunch of these If they weren't so expensive and hard to find.

New here but wanted to share my recent acquisition (so recent, that i just finished boiling). Probably favorite pot so far. Circa 1900 - 1909, with an interesting history and provenance.

Now hard part is deciding what tea to dedicate to the pot... Wu yi cliff? Aged pu erh? Suggestions?

Nice pot @Aya. @Zared that old shuiping is very beautiful. Lucky find.

@NanoCrazed I am not sure your pot is from 1900-1909, it looks very recent to me... but perhaps I am wrong

I was suspicious too as it is almost too ornate. But, I spoke the seller who gave me enough info to put some credence to the date range (naturally, I'm still trying to research the pot and mark to fully authenticate but taking the innocent until proven guilty approach -- especially since regarless of authenticity, it's a pot that i will not part with). It was one of two pots her late aunt acquired in China around that time. The seller kept one and sold me the other (seller is also elderly so time range is plausible).

For what it's worth, the clay quality is unlike any of my other pots, old (1950s is oldest) and new. The workmanship is all handmade and superb.

Love to hear from anyone who might know about the mark...

They did make very ornate pots in late Qing/early ROC. But they look quite different from that one... for example like this: http://fs01.bokee.net/userfilespace/201 ... 977724.jpg

In the pot you posted, the clay looks strangely uniform, with little "sandy" texture, which is strange for a zini from that period. Also the style of the mark is strange for late Qing/ROC. There are many things that all point to it being made much later, after 1990s. I might be wrong, but I'd say there is a 99% chance it's made after 1990, and a 1% chance or less that it's from 1900-1909...
