Hiya, welcome to TeaDay. Please drop by and share what is in your cup throughout the week.
Yesterday we discussed FOOOOD. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. How much tea by liquid volume do you consume on a typical or average day ... including all steeps? Please share how do you consume this amount? Do you consider this a lot?
I am looking forward to sharing this TD with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Monday TeaDay 12/07/09 TeaLiquid consumption?
I guestimated as a typical gongfu wuyi session as 20 ounces, and the average sencha session as between 20 and 50 ounces depending if I'm one cupping or two it
and the number of infusions. So actually the more I think about it it might be slightly more than 80, but it all really depends on the day and my schedule.

Re: Monday TeaDay 12/07/09 TeaLiquid consumption?
Somewhere between 60 and 80 on many days. But, some days less, and very rarely more than 80 tho.
Like Adam, I kinda figured, lets see, 8oz matcha, followed by at least 3 insusions of sencha from the kikumaru, or an equivalent amount of a white from the glass pot; then maybe some pu, or ku ding of late, and maybe some chamomile before bed. So, yeah, somewhere between 60 and 80 give or take.

On average, I'd say 15 ounces.
Just doing brews of one tea in a small gaiwan along the day.

Depends on the tea. On average I drink 21(green tea day) and 33oz(oolong day) a day.
I will use today as a typical example. I use a 100ml gaiwan and make 300ml for breakfast kinda like half a gongfu session and then when I get home from work I will have 300ml more. Then before bed I finish the session with 300ml more. This way most of the caffeine has been used up before the bedtime finish.
The only problem I have is some teas don't last well up to 9 infusions so the last infusions are very weak. I hate to admit it but I started doing drinking like this to conserve my tealeaf so I can drink a lot but stay lower on the cost range.
On days I drink green which is very often I drink about 21oz but I use the same method, three, 7oz infusions throughout the day in a glass teapot.

A lot. Hard to say really. I usually tap out my 3 liter thermo pot throughout the day plus whatever I drink at work and whatever iced tea I may also drink. I'd say I'm hitting around 5 liters or more of tea in any given day.

Two to three liters on average, I guess. If I spend the entire day in front of the computer, I'd say four liters.
That equates to around a hundred cubic ounces per dozen furlongs, if my calculations are correct.
The oolong binge yesterday seems to have filled a need, so I'm continuing it today.

I drink at least a gallon of cold green throughout the the day
and another 20 to 30 hot at night. I love Green cold with lots of ice and really love drinking all day long. I never get tired of drinking Tea and the nights I love the hot.
Enjoy your TeaDay today!

I consume roughly 15 cups of tea per day. Some of these are for review. Some are for leisure. I consider this a lot, but it could be worse, for sure.
This morning I have been drinking a Winter White Earl Grey from Harney & Sons in celebration of the first snowfall of the year here in Cincinnati.

I used to drink big amounts of tea but now I only drink 75-100 ml for each steep which gives me 400 to 600ml (20 ounces) as an average.

Slightly less than 60oz usually, is my guess. It depends on what day it is and how I am brewing. I usually get 15-20oz per tea. When I'm off it is more, but I work a lot. Also I have to cut off at 3:00pm due to caffeine sensitivity, or it would be much more. In the evenings I'm really craving tea. By morning, I can barely function.
My first cup this morning was Glendale Handmade Nilgiri from TeaSource. Good, but not as outstanding as the prior year's.

Re: Monday TeaDay 12/07/09 TeaLiquid consumption?
At least 32 oz, usually more even to double this amount. But I do a lot of re-steeping and stick usually to one tea per day. Obviously, multiple steep capacity is a quality I value (you could say mandate) in the tea I buy
Today, high fired oolong for a bit of a switch on my more recent preferences... a few years' old Big Red Robe. First brew hits the spot, but I need to push it more in the next steeping

Shuweet photo Seeker, thanks for coloring TD with your Special Offer #11 Yunomi!
I figured over 100 ounces a day. Especially when I factor in night time "tea" which is currently Mugi or Genmai sans Cha.
Began the TD with Hatsumi from O-Cha. Quite good today. Hatsumi is not my ideal flavor profile in a sencha, but this brings a new dimension and variety to the menu. SweeTea visited for the tasting while Gandalf and Precious just stopped by.
Next up, a tasting of Zencha Fuji the Ultimate, also quite good today.
