Thursday TeaDay 12/10/09 TeaGifting?

by Chip » Dec 10th, '09, 01:10

Good TeaDay one and all ... come on in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed TeaRetailer. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Will you be giving the gift of tea this holiday season? Why, why not? Please share.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up ...

Quite possibly... at least I really want to.

I have some friends that just bought Teavana's version of the ingenuiTEA and a tin of tea-- expensive tea at that. They sold them their Samurai Chai Mate... blended with healthy, caner fighting, miracle white tea for extra healthy healthy health reasons... why WOULDN'T you want white tea mixed in?!?

*cough* sorry... anyway...

So they would be super easy to buy tea for, because they already show some interest in it... and have a way to steep loose leaf.

But for other people, part of me feels like most people would see making tea as a hassle :?

Maybe some teabags for my mother.
Of course, that will be a kind of earl grey blend.
Something that everyone could like.

Probably won't be giving tea this year. Most of my friends are not "into" tea -- that's why I was so happy to find this forum! :D

I'm going to have some Russian Caravan this morning. Probably some chai this afternoon. I need to find some green tea I like. Black, assam, and oolong are what I am most familiar with.

nobody I buy gifts for is into tea like me soo no tea gifts. My mother and sister drink tea but are perfectly happy with bagged (gasp) tea. I am buying my niece a custom made quilt from etsy.

I just ordered some gyo from ippodo. I got the kanro and ippoen. The tenaka-ichi was just to darn expensive!

I am thinking yes, most definitely. My sister has expressed interest in teas lately, so will likely follow through with that. Otherwise, possibly yes.

Began the TD with a tasting of Zencha Fuga Limited Edition. SweeTea participated while Gandalf and Ceylon sat and observed.

With all the friends and family I have who enjoy tea... it's the perfect gift this holiday season!

10 on my list will receive a Libre tea glass 'n poly tea glass (http://www.libretea.com) and a tea I have chosen specifically for them.

This morning I have been enjoying the Aged Pumpkin Rum Pu'erh (http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... lend=10104) I put together last week. It turned out pretty well, I think.

I am currently steeping the Bloody Currant Breakfast (http://www.adagio.com/signature_blend/b ... lend=10107) I put together. It smells fantastic!

Of course! Tea is a great gift. Teaware even better because you can keep it for indefinite time. I know a lot of people just waiting to try new teas and tea things.
In my cup this morning was yuuki's genmai kari blended 2:1-1.5 with some organic sencha from umami chaya
In my cup at work now, 35 hr cold brewed 4 seasons in a 1litre bottle strained into glass cup

I've been drinking a lot of Tazo's seasonal tea called Joy. I'll be stocking up a bit, and buying some to give out to friends.
