Sunday TeaDay 12/13/09 Tea, cold, and weekends?

by Chip » Dec 13th, '09, 02:18

Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please come in and sit a spell ... share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed willingness to try new teas. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaRoom poll and discussion topic. Now that the weather is getting colder for most of us, do you find you are spending more time and/or enjoying your time with your tea more ON THE WEEKENDS? Please share with us.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

For me weekends have never "existed". Because of my life's "schedule"...... weekends are just two more day to the week. The are not formally "days off".

So it has no impact on tea drinking or most anything else.

best,

.................john

Maybe.

My tea drinkings about the same because even when the weather is nice I find time to relax and enjoy a nice cup of tea. The big difference will be the kind of tea I drink will change more to black soon.

Long jing this morning. Finally got some more to get me through winter :D

Our tea drinking is about the same 365 days a year. Weekends are just like the other days of the to us.

I drink hot tea year round and, as I am retired, the days of the week are the pretty much the same.

However, on cold, gloomy days, I probably drink an extra cup or two, and love cradling the cup in my cold hands!

Mariage Freres Marco Polo this morning; don't know yet what I'll have later.

Yes, I do enjoy more tea and Yes, I do enjoy it more! The week is full of schedules, deadlines, and to-do lists and I never really have time to just sit and be. So the weekends are a welcome change!

Nilgiri Nonsuch in my cup this morning.

I'm having a Great tea day so far, Gonna try and drink from most of my new Hagi-s today. So far I got two down, though the ice split was sorta cheating just poured a little in to see what it would look like. Needless to say I am thrilled.

Thanks for coloring our TD, Adam!!! They are beauTEAfull.

Cold rainy day ... good weekend day for tea! More tea on colder weekends, not really, pretty consistant throughout the year really. Enjoyed more, that is a tough call. Taste/enjoyment memory tends to fade quickly ... but it is possible that I enjoy it more in cooler weather.

Began the TD with a tasting of Zencha Fuji the Ultimate in Biwa Hagi Wan/SO #4. SweeTea joined the tasting while Wulong decided she likes Social Tea Biscuits.

having a few extra cups on the weekend mornings now that the house is a bit colder for sure. Also i tend to veer more towards the Oolong side of things as opposed to my "normal" Japanese greens. Just something about a nice TKY or Taiwanese high mountain that does a little more to warm my bones on these days

I enjoy it all year about equal I'd say. Of course we don't have super cold weather here. I guess I might give winter a slight edge for the hand warming appeal.

Today's cup is Mariage Freres Saphir First Flush in one of our TeawareArtisans cups - from the Hedge Apple series by Little Pig Pottery:

Oh yeah this is my Biwa Impersonator... I'll have to see if I can look up the specks on the Biwa special offer, sadly this one did not come from the special offer, but is an kid trying to fit in.

Wow, that is a sweet little teabowl! (Nice photo too!)

Hmmm, I vary widely on any given day as to how much tea I drink. I'm most heavily influenced by how much coffee my husband makes in the morning, and how much he drinks before I get to it. (I LOVE coffee.  )

This morning, there was a HUGE pot of coffee, and he was playing WoW and not hogging all the coffee, so I haven't had ANY tea yet today. I'm thinking that's about to change. Heh.
