Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed what cup we were using, a simple topic. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Another fundamental teaware question. What teapot/brewing vessel are you using today, or what teapots/vessels are you using? You can vote for several options again today. Please be sure to share some details.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Friday TeaDay 12/18/09 How are you brewing today?
Having been a pretty traditional tea drinker (British style India or China) over 52 years of marriage I have collected quite a few English style china teapots. Also, a couple of French ones that are a bit different. Right now, the one I use most is a small glass one.
I'm looking forward to purchasing my first Asian style one, but am not quite sure yet which way I'll go.
I just ordered an ingenuiTea pot from Adagio today. TeaChat has given me a new interest. Due to chronic health problems, I'm pretty much confined to home. Thus, anything I can do on line that is a bit different makes my everyday existence much more interesting.

Remember, the question is what are you using to brew today (throughout the day), and you can place up to 5 applicable options.
As with virtually every day, began with a kyusu. Technically kyusu simply means teapot in Japan, but we have long equated it with the perpendicular handled version.
Currently using another type of kyusu, a Japanese teapot that resembles a pitcher. Ceramic I believe. Have used this one for 10 years and counting, though I have had to sub another lid for the one I broke.

Gaiwan, Yixing and a favorite Japanese teacup of mine are in the plan

Re: Friday TeaDay 12/18/09 How are you brewing today?
This morning I enjoyed a cup of Ceylon Lover's Leap brewed in my PersonaliTea ceramic from our host, Adagio. It is pretty much my go-to pot for making tea at home.
At work I will use my 16 oz. IngenuiTea, also from Adagio.

Mostly brewing English-style in a glazed ceramic kyusu today. How's that for a mashup?
In my cup: Adagio's Oolong #8. It makes my throat feel better.

How did I forget Gaiwan(esque) and Houjins ... and likely more. Might be a bit distracted today I guess, "Bear" the feline, who was literally born in house, is fading quickly. He was such a strong cat ...
Began the TD with Hatsumi in a Kyusu with Momiji design ... both from O-Cha. SweeTea arrived for a taste and Lil' Bit was back again just to observe.

Chip,
My heart, spirit, and thoughts go out to Bear, to you, and to your DW.
Best wishes, best possible outcomes, smoothest possible transitions to each of the three of you (and the rest of the family!).
This morning - matcha of course, whisked into a lively froth in artisinal
ceramic.
Followed by some teavana gyo (decent stuff, IMHO). Kikumaru kyusu, and sipped from a stunning sansai tebineri. Mmmmm.
Good way to start the day.
Cheers.

Happy Friday!
Well, let's see, I started with Yunnan Imperial in my PersonaliTea tea pot from Adagio (great pot for brewing the family breakfast tea). My tea buddy at work brewed a "red and white" teabag (a yummy favorite) for us in her little coffee maker (glass pot). This afternoon I enjoyed YM sencha brewed in a kyusu. This evening I'm enjoying a new tea (dancong aria from Adagio) brewed in a tiny porcelain pot.
Great tea day!
Hope everybody is looking forward to a great weekend!
