Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay ... do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day!
Yesterday we discussed "badditives" to tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Further end of year inventory? How would you rate this past TeaYear for you personally. Please share highs and or lows.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay ... and this past TeaYear with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
I'm going to go with a solid NINE.
This year has been an extremely good TeaYear for me with an unexpected delve into greener first flush Darjeelings. Wow, I have had some awesome tea this year! Even though many reports have said this was not a good crop year for Darjeeling, or Oolongs for that matter. The Oolongs I purchased for the most part have been outstanding! I credit that to quality vendors like Floating Leaves Tea. I also discovered a new vendor this year Camellia Sinensis that quickly rose to my top five vendor list. Totally unexpected and for the most part stumbled upon. Yes it has been just outstanding, I can't imagine it getting much better. But I left a little room, just in case next year somehow proves better.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
Well I'd give it a 9 too, but my Old School Pessimism pushes it down to a hesitant 8.
Met the only other Hard Core tea drinker I've ever known. And tasted my very first Yellow Tea, yummy.
The highlight must be buying my first and probably only yixing
. I want to dedicate myself to it.
The lows are I havent been able to buy new tea since October...

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
I would give this TeaYear a 9. This past year has brought me the most quantity of tea and the most high quality tea that I've ever had. I hope to take what I have learned this year and make next year an even better TeaYear.
Nothing in my cup this morning. I had to leave earlier than usual for work because we accumulated more snow last night... but I am hoping to make some tea during lunch.

Definitely a 9 this year having experimented with more teas than I ever have before, and have found a couple that i really enjoy. Also, I found TeaChat, which is giving me more knowledge about what to try.
This morning, Mariage Freres Marco Polo "mystery" tea and, as my tea order didn't arrive yesterday, perhaps a new tea this afternoon.

First tea year and I give it an 8. Pretty stinkin fun ride this year learning sooo much. I didn't explore teaware or puerh much and wish I did... so maybe 2010 will be the year to form new tea addictions

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
I'm with you on that one. I still haven't tried puerh... because I have to obtain some before I can try some.bsteele wrote:I didn't explore teaware or puerh much and wish I did... so maybe 2010 will be the year to form new tea addictions

A sampler of five teas from Silk Road - "White Peony, Dragon Well, Tieguanyin Oolong, Golden Monkey and Imperial Pu-erh." And sample black teas ; Red Peach(Hong Tao Mao Feng)

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
Oh wow, cool! Enjoy!! You are gonna love that red peach in your glass pot! Lovely!
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
I thought giving a nine but eventually I rate this year ten out of ten: I had very good teas during this year and it was the first year I hadn't felt the need to find better teas (which doesn't mean I have stopped trying new teas).
Ippoen gyokuro this evening.

I voted 7. I had some teas that were pretty bad, and some that were very, very good!
Re: Tuesday TeaDay 12/22/09 TeaYear Inventory?
I'm giving it a "9".
Thought about 10, but, nawww. Gotta save that one!
Had some great teas, new teas, really got into TC, rediscovered
matcha and became enchanted by chawan, and discovered Hagi!!!
(perhaps you can see why I was considering "10")?
Definitely a very good tea year!
Matcha kaoru supreme this morning, still considering what to have next.
Hmmm, something that goes with wrapping gifts, hmmm...

Had a pretty good tea year, but at the moment I am CRANKY because 1: I forgot my watch on the dresser today. 2: My 3:00pm client no-showed. I'm getting really tired of that crap. 3: I AM OUT OF MATCHA AT THE OFFICE.
