Good TeaDay everyone. I hope you will drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed our holiday shopping. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeasRoom poll and topic. I was wondering, what will you be eating on December 25th? Please share the mouth watering details. And will TEA figure into the day prominently?
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Funny, shopping today I was looking at the rib roasts (prime rib) and lobster tails. Did pick up some "cold smoked" salmon, similar to lox, will break that out at my parents.

It's nice getting old isn't it?
10 years ago it would have been turkey (cuz you can feed a lot of people for CHEAP,) out of sheer necessity.
Also, there is a great big box under the xmas tree with my name on it. Given my husband's penchant for trying to fool me, I'm guessing that the gift inside is probably about the size of a golf ball. Ha!

Prime Rib roast! Rock salt rolled baked potatoes. Spinach braised with butter, garlic, and madeira. Mmmmm. Oh and let's not forget the 2004 Martinelli Bondi Home Ranch Pinot Noir! And the 2000 Newton unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon.
Tea will definitely figure prominently. Not sure which tea yet. Puerh after dinner? - quite likely. Certainly japanese green in the morning. Maybe some oolong after that? Time will tell.
(We're also doing a double bone-in turkey breast for the sandwiches.)
Matcha this morning (Wakamatsu), followed by a mix of organic gyokuro and teavana gyokuro (nice combo
). Drank a mixture of puerhs for my drive down today. Chip - you've given me the mixing bug!

On the 25th it will be a light meal. Our big celebration is on the 24th so that is when the feast will occur.

Actually I don't know the menu - Dinner is at my SIL's. My guess is prime rib.
Tonight though, is traditional Mexican at another SIL's. I'm not cooking this year, using the broken oven excuse one last time.
In my cup this morning Sungma Estate FF.

Like Rachel, we celebrate on Christmas eve.
My wife has been baking for three days, so we have rasberry apple and pumpkin pies, tortiere, spritzes and St Lucia buns. Then baked ham for dinner with pineapple-sweet potatoes and Swedish meatballs on the side. I haven't picked the wine yet, but maybe a little red from Chambolle for the meal and either a Quarts de Chaume or Moulin Touchais for desert.
There will be at least three gyokuro fans in the house tonight, so you can count on Greens making an appearance.
Happy Holidays folks.

I thought you got a new one? But I say, use the excuse as long as you can!Victoria wrote:I'm not cooking this year, using the broken oven excuse one last time.
My mother-in-law is bringing over a rib roast and crab salad. Plus we will have mashed potatoes, salad, etc. I think that constitutes a feast!
Keemun Rhapsody in my cup this morning.

Hehehe, well as I said one last time! Next year I am going to have to do the main dinner. We kinda switch off because there are 20 + people and it's a lot of work as you can imagine. Stress = me an only child, cooking for 20.geeber1 wrote:I thought you got a new one? Or ... we could just all come over to your place.

I get stressed cooking for 6 so I can imagine having to prepare for 20 - nervous breakdown time, accompanied by margaritas instead of tea!

Oh man, I LOVE to cook for a crowd! One of my favorite things. But hubby gets all "RETREAT! RETREAT!!!" if we have that many people in our house.

Feasting on the typical Christmas foods.
I might be a little different, living in Louisiana...we usually have turkey necks to go with the turkey. And the best part of the turkey, the heart
Sipping my dwindling supply of Yamamotoyama family pack sencha right now.
