Christmas 2009 TeaDay More I hope!?!

by Chip » Dec 25th, '09, 02:52

Merry Christmas
to those celebrating.

Welcome everyone, please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout this day.

Yesterday we discussed feast versus famine. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaRoom poll and discussion topic. Are you drinking more tea or less tea than normal due to the holiday? Please be sure to share details with us.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay and Christmas with everyone. Bottoms up.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I seem to be drinking less tea due to how busy and hectic it has
been. I hope it will slow down now, but we will see. Still lots of
family visiting and plans though the weekend. Including 10 of us
going to see Avatar at Imax.

Everyone please be extra careful driving, stay safe & warm!

Merry Christmas to all! And a special "thank you" to Chip and the rest of the mods for their help in making TeaChat the great place that it is.

Definitely more. A few years ago I learned that holiday hustle and bustle was a lot easier to bare if I had a big thermos of hot tea with me. So now when I'm stuck in traffic I can sip some nice oolong, or sometimes a puerh. Makes me a "jolly old elf" :D

Here's today's tea lineup. Golden Yunnan for breakfast. Followed by a thermos of BaoZhong for the ride to my parents. I'm planning on introducing my sisters to loose leaf tea this Christmas, starting with Silver needles, Baozhong, TKY, and if they enjoy those, some puerh, all brewed gong fu. Also, I bought some balls of display teas to liven up the dinner table. Later at night I'll be visiting friends who enjoy tea, brewing Dong Ding, Taiwan Shui Xian and Dancong. Yeah, it's gonna be a GREAT tea day!

Merry Christmas!

Im shooting for more but I think Im being optimistic. Most holidays I have a hard time fitting tea into the day but I made sure to get up extra early and because were having Christmas at my house I can make time.

Had a craving for long jing this morning and then before the feast I will try to have some shu pu erh for digestion

Not NEARLY enough tea for the last couple of weeks... I've been so busy with holiday preparations and work that I've hardly been at home except to collapse in the bed. My home literally looks like a hurricane zone. I can barely even see my Zoji. :D

I am at Mom's today... had big festivities last night and more to come this afternoon... but this morning is blissfully peaceful. I have lots of tea to catch up on, and I'm getting started on it right now with a delicious cup of Puttabong SFTGFOP1. Mmmmm. This first-flush has held up surprisingly well with good storage.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it... and Happy Holidays to everyone. :)

Sarah

Definitely less. Hubby is home and keeps making big pots of coffee, which I can't resist.

I've been on vacation this week except for one day, so I've been drinking more tea than usual. This morning I'm on my 2nd steep of Ceylon Sonata. Woke up with an upset tummy and the mildness of the Ceylon seems to help settle things.

Happy Holidays to all of you! Safe travels if you are on the road!

I'm drinking the same amount as usual, but I think I'm enjoying it more being cold here (a rare thing in the south).

About to brew up a pot of Yamamotoyama sencha. Probably have genmaicha later.

I always drink more tea during vacations because I don't drink tea at work.

Saphir Himalaya this evening.

Mmmm Love that Saphir, I'm having a cup right now too.
Doing a little cooking for tonight's big family dinner. The
house is quiet, I'm longing for snow.

Merry Merry Merry Christmas Tea Friends!
I wrote (what I hope is) a newsy Christmas letter...in it I wrote that the best of our many blessings is the people we get to spend time with thru the year. For me that includes my friends here on the Teachat!

Our big family get together was yesterday...so not a lot of time for tea. But today...mmmm, snowy cold day and lots of nice warm tea, including this big pot of 4 steeps of sencha being kept warm so I could sip a little at time from my sweet blue cup.

Warm wishes,
Dreamer

Thanks for coloring TD, Gingko, Geeber, Victoria, and Dreamer!

I had to answer less, not planned that way. Started out well, then on the road show at MiL's house, I forgot to make tea, then wondered why I was grouchy?!?

Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. SweeTea stopped by for a taste while Wulong and Lil Bit stopped by with Christmas wishes.

Much much much later, home roastmugi/genmai w/cha ... much better than any other mugi or genmaicha I have had.
