Re: New Year's Day 2010 Tea of the month, December?
Happy New Year indeed!
Japanese almost certainly. Matcha and sencha dominated, with chinese whites not too far behind.
May this new year smile upon us all (and may we all smile upon it)!

Strangely enough for me it was an oolong...
Specifically a Guangdong Phoenix "Mi Lan Xiang" which came as part of the tea-starter kit which I bought for my mother for Christmas from TeaSmith in London.
I can't exactly describe it, my oolong palate is dreadfully under-developed, but it was wonderfully floral and the Qi was just incredible. The leaves were also breathtakingly beautiful and tippy.
Started today with the 2002 Xiaguan "Bao Yan" Raw Pu-Erh.
Happy New Year Everyone!

Happy New Year!
My tea of the month was a last minute entry. The Jiu Hua fo cha(Chinese green) I had yesterday just hit the spot and its been a few months since I've had it.
More jiu hua fo cha this morning along with Shan Lin Xi

My tea of month is a "king" of ben shan. I never knew ben shan could be this good
Besides, I myself was surprised that I drank a lot more puerh sheng last month than I ever had. I think it's because staying in rooms hot and dry makes me crave for something like sheng.

Japanese green. I would say Ippodo shincha; I really liked my last bag.
Ippoen gyokuro this evening.
Et bonne année à tous!

Starting the new year with an old favorite,
Red Peach from Silk Road Teas.

I love it when Darjeeling gets its very own category.
I had to choose Darjeeling because it is generally a daily tea for me, and with the Lochan tasting, I got to experience quite a few new ones.
This morning has been iced Lady Grey from good old Twinings (loose leaf, not bags). I so much prefer this gentle Lady to the more flamboyent Earl.
Happy New Year to all my TeaChat friends, and thank you for the smiles and friendship and enrichment of my tea experience for 2009.

Happy New Year, Tea Friends!!!!
I could not pick a single type of tea for the month! This month I have enjoyed Ceylon, Chinese, Japanese, African, and Indian and I've greatly enjoyed the variety!!!
This morning Kenilworth Ceylon in my cup. Later there will be something green and Japanese
My wish for all my tea friends...that you are all looking forward to a 2010 where you dream big..anything's possible
Time for another cup,

Most Consumed Tea of December was Japanese by far.
Just had a very hagi beginning to the New Year, I made my family tea using a whopping 16 oz hagi kyusu, and hagi cups, making O-cha's Miyabi.

Adam, that setup looks pretty good. Japanese teas dominated by December too. I hadn't been drinking them for a while, but I've placed 2 Ippodo orders in December and plan to place another today –maybe.

I am hoping everyone's New Year is getting off to a great TeaStart. Thanks for coloring TD Victoria and Adam.
A new Japanese green was my fave for December, even though I did not have it but a few times. And it was organic. Oku Yutaka from O-Cha is the name of the breed and the tea. This was my first crack at an organic from O-Cha. Quite unique and a very un Japanese green aroma.
Began the TD with a tasting of Den's Zuiko, then a tasting of Den's Organic Matcha tasting, and last a tasting of Zencha Fuji the Ultimate with SweeTea and DW.
