I am intending to use Shou-pu er in a YiXing pot that I used to use Shen-pu er.
I do not want to boil the pot to de-season it because I have been useing shen-puer in it for a while and it has picked up a nice shine already.
I was wondering if I kept on use boiling water to reinse inside of my tea pot would that remove all the shen-puer tea oil built up inside the pot?
Or de-seasoning the whole pot is the only way to go?

Try brewing the shou once to see how it tastes. I think the the stronger flavors of the shou would probably overwhelm that of the sheng.

I would just start drinking shu in it, no rinse or cleaning. I think a little sheng taste would be welcome in my shu.
Try it as it is with shu, if you don't like it then rinse it out a good few times and if you still don't like it boil it up.

I agree with everyone's advice. I just want to add one thing: I don't think reboiling will loose the patina, I'd actually expect it to "improve" if you boil it with water for 15 minutes and then boil for another 15 minutes with some shu in the water.
