Happy TeaDay everyone. I hope you have a great TeaDay, please share it with us by posting what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed TeaChat ideas. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. It is a new year, time for TeaChat to take a look in the mirror. Seriously, we can take it ... on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest rating possible, how would you rate TeaChat today? Is it getting better or worse? Please share. No hard feelings as I am taking serious inventory of the forum and how to improve it.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 1/06/10 TC power rating?
8, gotta keep you on your toes, Chip so no 11s from me
But seriously, TC is pretty hot stuff and I'm really liking it... although I've only been here for 1 year so my frame of reference is a tad limited.
I'd give it an 8.1 if the NOTIFY WHEN REPLY IS POSTED worked!!
Edit: Had to change to a 7... we need the chat page back too.

Chip,
I'm a total noob here ....so take this with a grain of salt.... but 11. When I become an "old and jaded" member..... I'll probably reduce that to a 10
.
TeaChat is a fantastic place from my point of view.
best,

I gave it a 9 no real complaints but I just feel like there is room for improvement. I am drinking rooibos mango this morning

Happy New Year, a bit late. In hospital with pneumonia for 6 days. I'm on oxygen 24/7, and this is the first time I've been hospitalized since February, 2007.
First cuppa of the new year; hubby made me some Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset, a black tea that is a real picker-upper. All I've had in the hospital was plain old ice tea w/lemon (I live in the South) and the hot tea tasted like nectar this morning!
Glad to be back.

A sad note here. On New Year's Eve, our dog, Muppet, laid down and died all alone while I was in the hospital and my husband was out of town. Her 13 years of devotion will long be remembered.
I'm looking forward to my Marco Polo "mystery" tea this afternoon.

That's so sad
I gave a '10' rating.
Right now I'm drinking an organic Assam. Doesn't taste quite right. Maybe I steeped it too long.
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 1/06/10 TC power rating?
I said 8/10 just because if it improves this year, then next year, what rating could I give then? And based on all the asking about ways to improve TC, I can only see it getting better.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 1/06/10 TC power rating?
I ain't sayin'
don't want to sway anyone today.
But in an aside, the forum is made up of so much more than programs, graphic/web design, widgets, topics, words ... it is the people, the members that make TeaChat what it is yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Therefore, in these terms I rate it an 11 (not counting the occasional troll) ... but I am of course asking for your rating based on all factors.
Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha. SweeTea would not miss YM, while Gandalf and Ceylon just wanted a spot on the TeaTable.
Next today, a tasting of Zencha Fuji the Ultimate.
Great TD so far ...

I give it a 10 so that there is still space to improve
I am having some Liu Bao black tea today. Well it feels smooth and healthy. But what else? I never got it what's in shu puerh or black tea like Liu Bao. Still haven't got it but will keep trying. Maybe I need to be educated with some better and more expensive shu puerh

I gave it a 10. Love the board, and everyone seems very friendly and eager to help anyone with questions. I've learned tons from teachat. Formosa Pouchong for me now while I attempt to retrieve my first scoby from my inaugural batch of Kombucha.
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 1/06/10 TC power rating?
I would give Tea Chat a 9 since there is always room for improvement. It has definitely improved with the newly added subforums, especially the artisan section. I love this forum, though I wish I had more time to read all the interesting stuff that is posted.
artmom: may a hot cup of tea make you feel better.
Currently in my cup: Organic Uji Gyokuro from Yuuki-Cha. Earlier today, was Fukamushi Magokoro also from Yuuki Cha for breakfast and a travel mug of Organic Monk's Blend at work. As much as I don't like getting up earlier to shovel the driveway, having a little extra time to make some sencha makes it better.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 1/06/10 TC power rating?
I have a cold so I am drinking herbal tea today: I chopped up some ginger, threw in some hong zao (jujube), dried roses, orange peel, and a couple of bags of herbal tea featuring elder, echinacea, and soothing herbs for throat. Does me a lot of good.
I give TeaChat high marks, although I am not here all the time due to travel and time demands for the things I'm supposed to be doing. And high marks to the great hosts.
