Thursday TeaDay 1/07/10 Top 5 Fave?

by Chip » Jan 7th, '10, 02:12

Greetings TeaAficionados. Please drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed TeaChats rating ... you can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. I ask this periodically. Please list your top 5, or your fave 5, TEA vendors. Share any related info if you want.

The POLL question, do you have 5 top or fave TEA vendors?

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

I don't have a list, as I am still pretty new to tea and mainly buy based on product quality, rather than brand loyalty. I use tea review sites and blogs for finding what sounds good to me for the most part - not that I don't do my fair share of shopping at Adagio!

Chip, Victoria, Chef Mike, thanks for your concern.

I'm feeling better than I have for over a month. The pneumonia must be retreating. :) I'm on oxygen 24/7 anyway for life, probably, since 2007. We are really missing Muppet. :( But are thinking about adopting an older rescue dog. We don't think we could keep up with a puppy, and don't particularly want it to outlive us.

Enough about that! Tea this morning. Red Peach.

Favorite tea vendors; short list -- I will be expanding.

Silk Road Teas
Harney & Sons
Adagio

no top 5... I think the only places I have ordered from are Den's, Adagio, and Mellow Monk. I've gotten samples from others but I haven't made enough serious purchased to formulate a top 5.

If I had to pick here they are...
1. Adagio
2. Rishi
3. Yogi Teas - Especially when I am not feeling well.
4. Tea Geshwendner
5. Harvey & Sons

Although, my list changes because sometimes I only like a few teas a particular company has. So maybe next time this question is asked I will have a different response. However, something tells me Adagio will always make the cut. :D

Hou De
Jing Tea Shop
O Cha
Ippodo
Green Tea Japan
Nadacha
Chinese Kung Fu Tea Art Store

So I guess a few more than 5 but still exploring so it may grow, but I can't narrow the list down as I feel each one offers something unique and I should go there for that reason.

Having some DaYuLing this beautiful morning in Maui. Sitting on the lanai and feeding the birds. I just saw a cardinal!! He was so shy, but managed to get a bread crumb, flew off and hasn't returned. I was hoping to get a pic of him. I was so surprised to see a cardinal here.
