I'm not sure if this has been done before but...
If you could only have one piece of teaware (or accessory) what would it be?
Note: Keep in mind a 'Tempature control kettle' for example would be considered something. Otherwise one would assume you have nothing but a pot, and heat to boil. Vice versa if you choose a crazy kettle for example, one would assume you would then steep and drink your tea from nothing but a basic cup/pot.

Interesting question.
ceramic kettle - I brew mostly grandpa style in whatever mug/cup I have nowadays during the day, but something good to heat the water in is needed.

Re: If you could only have one teaware...
The most important piece of teaware to me is the instant read digital thermometer. I'm a bit of a wimp and can't cope with the bitterness that is drawn out of my green teas and even some of my oolongs with water that is too hot. I'd rather compromise on the brewing vessel than on the water temp.
That said, at my local chinese tea market, I bought my perfectly serviceable gaiwans for $2.99-3.99, and as said already, they will brew any tea just fine.

A good teabowl or yunomi.... just about the most intimate kind of object a human uses. It touches hands and lips and provides nourishment to both the soul and the body.

My cast iron teapot. I think all my tea tastes best when it's steeped in a cast iron teapot.

Yeah, I'm thinking a Gaiwan myself. I need a new one however and have yet to track a decent one down locally.
