Saturday TeaDay 1/23/10 TeaVendor Rating?

by Chip » Jan 23rd, '10, 01:46

Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please stop in throughout the day and share what is in your cup.

Yesterday we discussed TeaPeeves while trying to enjoy tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. A little subliminal advertising for the new TeaVendor Forum. What was your overall satisfaction rating for your TeaVendors in the last 6 months? Any highs or lows you would like to share?

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone, bottoms up.

I voted for the top rating. All my vendors were perfect.

About to have some tea and a bit of chocolate or a cookie. Hmmm, puerh or something white...

(gosh I love tea!)

91-100%

Just got more genmaicha extra green from Den's in yesterday so that's in my cup.

Plus they sent me a new JapanUp magazine to read while I have my cuppa. :D

Top rating for me. Now that I have trimmed down my vendor list and use only my top vendors, everything has been fabulous. The high point came from discovering the teas at Camellia Sinensis. I wasn't planning on adding a another vendor, or having that one shoot up to my top five. I was stunned.

Himalayan Saphir for me this morning.

Have a nice day everyone!

91-100% for me too. Two online vendors that I had ordered from before, and one local store where I buy my Yunnan Gold (which, indecently, is in my cup this morning as usual). Hopefully, the winning streak will continue in the next 6 months thanks to the TeaVendor guide :D

I voted the top rating as well... can't remember the last time I ordered any tea I was displeased with. I honestly haven't ordered much tea lately, and no new vendors in several months. I do want s'more of that japanese black and japanese oolong from Yuuki-cha now that I think of it. ;)

Adagio TKY in my cup this morning.

Happy Tea Day to all!

Sarah

91-100 percent...only one problem these past 6 months and that was when I ordered a new chashaku and the wood was starting to split, other than that a pretty good half year.

Had to go with the top option as well - a mix of old and new vendors, but was extremely pleased with everything new, and am consistently pleased with my old favorites as well!

Although now that I think about it, I still have some that I've been "saving" for a while.. thinking I should drink that before it goes unexpectedly stale. Then I'd have to revote on yesterday's topic

Adagio's Blackberry this morning, probably some of my standby Cardamom Ginger this afternoon (one of the few teas I actually sweeten). But after I finish my glass of homemade ginger ale! :D

Ginger ale the soft drink, or ginger ale the beer? Either way, sounds really tasty! I have yet to find a commercially available GingerAle soft drink that isn't too sweet for my tastes. As for ginger beer, makes me wish for a Moscow Mule served in a copper cup. Yum!

Vendors and their teas over the last few months have been terrific.
Today drinking only 1 tea: Formosa Ali Shan from Enjoying Tea.

I voted for the highest because although none of my teas have really come from "name brand" vendors, with the exception of a couple teas from Ten Ren in Chinatown, I researched the tastes beforehand to see if I would like them. The only complaint I have about tea vendors in my area is that there aren't enough! (I'm at college in Albany.)

I just finished two wonderful cups of looseleaf pu-erh and am having some white tea once I get done with floor-washing and laundry. (Tea is the best after errands!! )
