From them of course! But it still baffles me as I feel most places that sell matcha store there match well enough that you won't notice much of a decline in quality over the course of a year of it sealed. It only really starts to decline in quality once opened.

Actually, it is really amazing just after grinding. In Uji there is a place where you grind your own and it is very good. Of course, that might just have been because their tencha was very good. They said it was the same tencha they used in their top level matcha. The shop is called Fukujuen Ujikoubou for any one who is interested.

I have some Shincha from them that is very good.

I had some from them last year too. I don't think I bought any, but it was good.

While there, check out the Asahi-yaki Shiryoukan (Asashi pottery museum) as well. Similar to Hagi gohon ware with the forms being a bit more refined however......
