Hi everybody!

by desiderata28 » Jan 31st, '10, 05:06

Hey, guys!

I'm new here and to any tea forum in general. I've loved tea my entire life and I just recently got into loose leaf (working on sampling Indian teas right now...Darjeeling is my absolute favorite tea of all time! :D ), but I have boxes and boxes of other teas (black, green, red, and white, and lots of herbal tea). If I had it my way, I would drink tea and only tea all day every day, but it's not very convenient to carry around an electric kettle everywhere I go.

Being new, I really want to learn more about tea. I have practically no knowledge of tea beyond what I find in the local supermarket and international store. Everything I find is in boxes and ceylon bags so I would really like to explore loose leaf. Anyway, that's about all I have to say. I hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for listening! :)

Welcome!! I am a fan of Darjeeling too. Be sure and try some nice oolongs. I think you will like those too. :)

I have gone from a cup of tea every couple of days, to 2-3 different teas daily. I get around the 'can't carry the kettle with me' problem by brewing up a quart thermos* full of tea once or twice a day. The thermos is way more portable than the kettle, pots and tins of leaves. It doesn't work so well with delicate green teas, but works fine with most oolongs, puerhs, and black teas.

Hey, thanks! I'll put that on my supply list. I need a thermos for other stuff, anyway. :)
