Welcome everyone to another TeaDay. Please drop in throughout the day and share what is in your cup.
Yesterday we discussed a rather questionable use of our kettles. You can still vote an discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. It is time again to share your fave tea of the past month. Please share some details with us.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

'Twas white, as usual. White Peony, specifically. Dragon Well gets honorable mention.
The jury is still out on what I'll have today. Oolong, perchance?

Mariage Freres Marco Polo secret blend with a base of black tea was my favorite; I find when I want a really good, satisfying, and pleasing tea, I turn toward it. I've brewed it often enough now, I know the amount, the timing, and the correct temperature of the water without a lot of fiddling around. I'll be ordering it for certain. It was a wonderful gift. However, I need to drink up some more of the teas I already have opened.

Found myself drinking mostly Japanese greens again. Second place would probably go to herbals (peppermint & rooibos), third to sheng puerh.

I'd have to say Yunnan Noir - I only just got it last week, but I've spent most of the month trying to finish off some things that haven't been my favorite (still drinkable and fairly good, just not amazing), so that one didn't have much to edge out
Following that has to be Darjeeling. Early favorite for this month: Snowbud.
This morning.. my only bag of an organic English Breakfast that I got for Christmas.

My tea of the month for January was a Puerh -- my first, in fact!
It was a sample I ordered from Houde: 2003 HK Henry Special-Ordered 7542 Menghai.
It yielded a lot of infusions, 15+, and showed a variety of woody, especially pine, notes, also slightly herby and medicinal. The chaqi was alert yet relaxing.
I am definitely going to explore the Puehr universe further.

For me it was an Indian Black, Nonsuch Estate Nilgiri. I had never had tea from this estate and I have been enjoying it very much! In fact, I had it this morning.

Taiwanese oolong all the way. I have had 3-4 different kinds in my cup, dong ding, jin xuan, oriental beauty, all good.

Japanese green. Hon gyokuro (zencha) was a pleasant surprise. I had a lot of Kaboku sencha and wakamatsu no mukashi matcha.

Several Boazhong from different sources seemed to dominate the month for me.

White peony is my faorite for January. This morning I'm sipping silver needle watching out the front window for the UPS man to arrive with my new shipment of tea.

Er... a blend of Indian blacks? I needed the extra kick in the pants most days.
Relaxing with houji-genmaicha and planning out my packing list for my trip next week. I like to get it done early.

My favourite this month was a floral flavoured back from Euro Té called Abril en México...it´s a black tea flavoured with a blend of common Mexican flowers. It´s really well balanced between the floral and tea notes, and it gives me a welcome taste of spring in the cold Canadian winter...ish a wonderful gift from my girlfriend
