Welcome everyone to TeaDay. Please do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed storage methods. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. OK, hopefully I can word this understandably. How much of your home/personal use computer/computer use is dedicated to TEA? Please share with us.
I am of course looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Friday TeaDay 2/5/10 Computer use and tea?
Going to have to think about that question. My first inclination is to say 10%, here and checking ebay. But then I have to factor in photo stuff, so that would up the % significantly.

I'll guesstimate 60 percent. I work on the computer, and work time is teatime. But I don't drink any caffeine after about 5 pm, at least not on nights when I want to eventually sleep.

Chip, maybe because it is 4 a.m. and I've been asleep for 5 hours and wish I was still asleep
but I don't quite understand the question!
Do you mean how much time do I (we) spend on the computer regarding tea (reading about it, chatting about it, ordering it, etc.) or how much of our computer time is spent drinking tea???

Re: Friday TeaDay 2/5/10 Computer use and tea?
As important as tea is in my day to day life...... it only amounts to about 10% of my computer time. (Have to save time for making and drinking it
.)

maybe 10%
Once every month or three when a purchase is becoming imminent the percentage goes through the roof.

This can be interpreted a bunch of different ways, which I left it that way purposely.artmom wrote:Chip, maybe because it is 4 a.m. and I've been asleep for 5 hours and wish I was still asleepbut I don't quite understand the question!

It could be % of total time spent on the computer, % of favorites saved or bookmarked, etc etc. etc. ... whatever makes sense to you!
Re: Friday TeaDay 2/5/10 Computer use and tea?
Between being on here, checking in with vendors for new stuff, etc. and tea-time at work and at home, I'd say probably 20%. Some days more than others, and
Earl Grey this morning. Have a feeling it's going to be a tea-heavy day; I need something to destress and make me happy. Disturbing news the last couple days.
I'll agree with this to a lesser extent - I wouldn't say it goes through the roof, but it definitely increases significantly (50%ish)Proinsias wrote:Once every month or three when a purchase is becoming imminent the percentage goes through the roof.

Re: Friday TeaDay 2/5/10 Computer use and tea?
Initially I wasn't sure if I understood the question. But after reading above responses, I chose 30%.
By last month, probably it was 10% or less. But ha ha this month I explored a few new territories. First of all, I overcame my own inner fear and signed up for a writing class. A lot of homework
a lot of computer use! I count this as tea use because my motivation of taking this class is primarily that I want to write more and write better about tea
I am now writing slightly more about tea, and will try to write more and more.
Secondly, I overcame my computer illiteracy and "made" a tea website, and therefore spent a lot of "tea time" on my computer. Well it's quote and quote "made" because I still know nothing about coding or programming. I used mostly open source free web page templates. But still, it's quite an adventure for a computer illiterate like me

I would say 10 to 20% if I don't count the time I use my computer for work.

I would probably say 80%. It may even be higher. I am here most of the day and evening, I have many tea ware pics stored and I love taking more. I shop for tea, look at and shop for teaware, read about tea, really ... it's mostly about tea.
In my cup this morning Himalayan Saphir.

I put 10%, interpreting it as how much of my computer time is looking at/reading about tea stuff.
And this morning, I blended some rooibos vanilla with spiced apple chai. Extremely good

Re: Friday TeaDay 2/5/10 Computer use and tea?
Right now my tea computer use is fairly high because i am new to tea and still learning/researching and shopping for tea and teaware. I dont expect to regularly devote 70% of my time to tea, but for right now it makes up a substantial portion of my computer use.

Re: Friday TeaDay 2/5/10 Computer use and tea?
Probably less than 10%, but that's a rather significant amount of time when you consider that I spend 40-60+ hours per week in front of my computer. The joys of being a grad student, eh?

Hmmm...
I'm going to have to say somewhere undulating between 50 & 75%.
This is counting matcha and other photos, TC time, tea-surfing (web y'know).
Mystery gift matcha this morning, followed by organic gokujo sencha in my cup now.
