Greetings TeaFriends. Please stop by and share what is in your cup throughout the day!
Yesterday we discussed how many teas we had throughout the average TeaDay. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Yesterday it was how many teas. Today, CURRENTLY how many different cups do you typically use on an average TeaDay? One cup for the whole day, or changing cups for each tea? Somewhere in between? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Re: Tuesady TeaDay 2/9/10 TeaDay cups?
on a typical weekday I change cups when I change teas, so I voted 2. With multiple brews, I just rinse out the cup and go again.

Usually two regardless of the type of tea I make- I brew in one mug and drink out of another.
Now if I forget to wash them out, come later that day, I may get 2 new mugs if I am lazy

Re: Tuesady TeaDay 2/9/10 TeaDay cups?
I would say I use two to three cups per day. Most recently rotation goes something like this: in the morning small gong fu cup for some kind of oolong, or a glass thermos for oolong, depending on what I'm doing, later on a chawan for Japanese/Korean green, and maybe a mug for something herbal at night. One can never have too many cups can they?
Re: Tuesady TeaDay 2/9/10 TeaDay cups?
Usually a different cup for the different kinds of tea.
So for me that means 4 different cups for 4 different teas a day.
But if I do choose to drink the same kind of tea later in the day I'll choose a different cup anyway because the one from earlier will already be washed and lately I've been trying to rotate my cups.

If I'm too lazy to rinse out my cup immediately after using it, I get a new one. I don't like mixing the flavors.
Btw, I tried Republic of Tea's: Tea of Inquiry, which is a nice Japanese green tea with toasted rice. I love the gentle flavor.

Average is likely two. Some days...... might be 4 or 5.... but most it is one or two.
Currently drinking a nice sencha from an American style yakishime coffee mug that I made and fired in Japan this past summer.

Re: Tuesady TeaDay 2/9/10 TeaDay cups?
Usually 2, especially if I'm at work, I just tend to rinse/clean out the cup I used in the morning for afternoon tea, then a clean one at home since I've changed location - and very often type of tea. Since I mostly keep blacks at work, I often want something else in the evening- sometimes oolong, often white, sometimes a black if I'm in the mood for something in particular. And home is where I have all of my teaware, so on weekends I tend to change cup for each change of tea (which still usually ends up being 2).

Most days just two cups, one at home, one at work, may go as high as four if i am going somewhere and pack a to go cup or i dont rinse my morning cup i will get another in the evening. I hate washing dishes so i try to cut down on making dirty dishes whenever i can.

I use larger cups for stuff I'm brewing in larger pots, small cups when I'm using the gaiwans or tiny clay pots. Mostly it's an issue of size.

Usually, about three cups. So, most days, that's a clean cup for each cuppa'. (I usually only drink one cup at a time.)
This morning, Golden Monkey from Silk Road Teas. Don't know what yet for afternoon and evening.

2 (or 3 if I make tea at work). My morning black tea is sipped, er, guzzled, from an English style cup without a saucer. Work tea I drink from one of the restaurant's soup cups (makes a great yunomi
). And in the evening I use a large (4oz) Chinese style "gong fu" cup.
On a slightly related note, I just ordered a JOEmo Tea Brew Travel Mug for brewing at work. What I like about it is that it has a mesh lock-in filter basket that can be used to steep then removed, or used as a filter for grandpa style (which is my intended use). It is stainless steel so it won't be destroyed if I drop it on the work kitchen floor (where other brewing devices have met their doom
), and supposedly, no plastic comes in contact with the tea while brewing. I'll give a report in Teaware after I run it through the tests.
Hope everyone has a great TD, and for those about to get hit by another winter storm, be safe.
Oh yeah, Yunnan Gold in my cup (as always). I think I need a change soon.

Re: Tuesday TeaDay 2/9/10 TeaDay cups?
I change cups for each tea, so a minimum of 2 daily. On the weekends more.
This morning an unlabeled black tea, hummm. Darjeeling, but not sure which one.
Have a nice day everyone!

I'll stick with the same cup for days or even weeks at a time. I know a cup's time is running short when I find myself walking by Pier 1 Imports lol
