Happy TeaDay everyone. I hope you will stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed how many cups we used each day and if we switched with each tea. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. How many pieces of teaware/accessories does it take for you to enjoy your first cup of tea? Does this change from tea to tea, and for successive teas? Please be sure to share.
I am looking forward to sharing this snowy day TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Saucepan (I still need a silver kettle), cannister, scale, little cup to weigh the leaves, teaspoon, houhin, yusamashi and yunomi. 8 items. My usual set-up for greens. More for matcha when I use my chabako.
Kanro gyokuro this morning.

It all depends on the tea I am having and the style of brewing. This morning 10; kettle, pot, canister, scoop, timer, strainer, tongs, fair cup, wan and tray.
CS Darjeeling Oolong to start the day.
Have a nice day everyone!

Kyusu, my hagi cups, strainer, weight, thermostat controlled water boiler
Yixing pot, cups or wine glass (I find them suited for drinking oolong), strainer, weight, water boiler
Those are the two setups I usually use. I guess that lands me at 5.
Having some Wen Shan Bao Zhong oolong now.

3- water kettle, teapot, cup or mug. (I guess the mesh infuser in my teapots are separate pieces, but they came together, so I'm counting it as one)

For green tea: glass mug and kettle to boil water
For oolong: kettle, a small teapot (or gaiwan), a big teacup, tea tray to hold water.
I am trying to find out how many oolongs can do well in grandpa style brewing, so that I can still have them even when I am busy

Morning sencha: teakettle, kyusu, fair cup, mug, scale, weigh cup, tea scoop, thermometer, tray: 9.
That's the most item-intensive.

Gonna hit the tea hard today, as classes were canceled for the first time in my 4 years here.
I said 5: hot plate, kettle, brewing vessel, cup and tea scoop

4: Electric kettle, mug 1 (to steep in), strainer, mug 2.
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 2/10/10 Teaware and accessories, how many?
Most days 3. kettle, gaiwan, mug.
For green teas i will use a thermometer to double check water temp, though my electric kettle has variable temperatures and the lowest is usually about right for white/green. With black and rooibos i will ususally use either a strainer or a paper filter. I have a timer for days i am doing alot of things at once so i dont forget my tea, but most days it doesn't see much action.
Starting the day with white peony again.

Good catches by many responders ... let's see, morning tea, Japanese Sencha: Washi canister, scale, small cup to hold the leaves, teaspoon, GraviTea water filter, UtiliTea, Japanese Tea Tray, Yuzamashi, digital thermometer, timer, Kyusu, sometimes fair cup, Hagi cup, Chataku (funny, as with many tea accessories, TeaChat comes up as top hit for chataku!
).
14!
15 if I include the gong that I have next to the tea tray, guess I have to strike it for it to count!
Hmmm, do Geisha cats with tea names count as accessories

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 2/10/10 Teaware and accessories, how many?
Morning tea requires 4 teaware/accessories. Kettle, pot, scoop and cup (sometimes a fifth, timer, if I'm doing other things). Evening tea requires the addition of faircup/strainer and tea table.
Looks like lots of tea today again since the restaurant where I work is closed due to heavy snow.
In my cup, you may have guessed by now, Yunnan Gold. On deck, some Baozhong and will follow that with some sheng puerh. (Even got out my camp stove just in case the power goes out

Infuser and infuser drip plate (1 & 2), standard mug (3), thermometer (4), tea timer (on iPhone - 5), TeaChat (on computer 6). :-p
This day I have been consuming a nice light Kukicha, a 2009 Shincha (excited for the 2010 crop!), and now a Jasmine green from Andrew's & Dunham Damn Fine Tea.
