Greetings everyone. Welcome to another TeaDay. Please do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed end of the day teas. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic may shock you a bit. It is all about teabags! What is the best hot cup of tea from a teabag you ever had? (No cheating with fill 'em at home bags either) So, please share your best teabag experience, the best teabags you ever had, etc.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone. Maybe share a teabag or two? Bottoms up.

Ohhh, we were discussing Yamamotayama on another forum. Seems they own Stash, and their sencha is Yabukita breed grown in Brazil. Obviously this has any sencha aficionado curious. So, how is this Brazilian Yabukita Sencha?JBaymore wrote:Yamamotoyama sencha.
For a while I had O-Cha's Uji bags. It is unfair to call these bags. They are made from Uji Sencha, 5 grams per bag. Lots of flavor and quite impressive. I would reserve them for eating out usually, getting 2 hot steeps and then throw it in the ice water for some nice iced tea. How many bags give you 3 good steeps?

Good morn all! I have shared delightfully delicious teabags from O-Cha with the Mod!
The only teabags I can remember using in years.
We usually share one when we are dining out, first hot, then dunked into a glass of water for 'iced tea'. { oh well, the mod beat me to it!
}
Started the day off with Fuga LE at home, now genmai at work. Very easy to brew on a very busy day.
Have a TEArrific TeaDay everyone!

I hate to admit it but I do enjoy a Yogi tea from time to time. Especially when I am sick they have some great "Throat Comfort" teas and I also had a Stash brand tea at a tea house once. I was surprised they even had bag teas but this tea was delicious. I remember there was a ginger component but I can't remember what else was in it which is really annoying because I have wanted more ever since but not knowing what it was called makes it difficult. Overall though I am a loose tea kinda gal and the teabags very rarely make it into my rotation.

I have these AMAZING silk teabags with loose leaf white tea and rose that my friend in The Netherlands sends me. Honestly I have been nearly brought to tears with the simplicity and beauty of this delicate brew.
In my cup this morning Balasun FF from SpecialTeas.

If it's herbal or flavored blends I crave, I usually just turn to teabags. This isn't very often.
Sick today, so tea consumption will likely reach astronomical levels. Right now, though, I'm grimacing through some Emergen-C.

Hot Cinnamon Spice tea sachet from Harney & Sons! It's not bad in the regular tea bag, either.
No tea yet today; went to County Kill Shelter and rescued (adopted) a cairn terrier/Schnauzer year old male. He'll need housebreaking, socializing, everything. Poor thing had been left out in a yard with his siblings and not much human contact. Our beloved Muppet died on New Year's Eve and we miss her. Right now, he's being neutered (sorry, guys
) and we'll pick him up from vet. Wonder if he'll like tea?

d'oh(No cheating with fill 'em at home bags either)
Actually I've had a couple teas (from teabags) that were really good. First is back when I started drinking tea, it was a goji berry blend of green tea, rooibos, and about 10 other ingredients from Stash (I wonder if I'd still like it -_-). I picked that one up at the local bi-lo. Some of the other tea bags were from Den's teas, I've had the genmai and the sencha both were good.
btw just looked up the stash tea...evidently they do loose leaf too. I might have to pick up a loose leaf version of the previously mentioned blend.

The teabags from TenRen tea are pretty good-- I mainly get their herbal blends, though (chrysanthemum tea is amazing). Admittedly, I use teabags more often when drinking herbal teas, simply because those are so much easier to find.
As for non-herbal bagged tea, I'd have to say my favorites are Numi's Magnolia Pu-erh and Eden's Sencha Rose.
Currently drinking a rosemary infusion (bagged), which will be followed with some looseleaf pu-erh after I do some homework. It's my reward.

Re: Monday TeaDay 2/22/10 Shocker of a topic, teabags?
Hay what a coincidence. Just this morning, I've decided I will make some teabags at home
So far all teabags I have had came free. I don't buy teabags but did have some good teabags that are better than mediocre loose leaf tea. I currently have some inferior leaves (either crushed or picked-out old leaves) from award winning tea products. Too much a waste to throw them away. So home-made teabags are in my plan
I chose other for the question. The best teabags I've had were from people who make tea. After the final selection, they use the left over leaf debris to make teabags

Re: Monday TeaDay 2/22/10 Shocker of a topic, teabags?
I have been satisfied with several flavored teas in teabags. Specifically, Tazo's Berryblossom White, Organic Chai, and Zen (a mint).
I am generally a purist and drink loose leaf whites, greens, oolongs and blacks, but when it comes to flavors which pretty much obliterate the truer tea tastes I am fine with a bag. In fact, the Chai by Tazo is better than my own attempts to prepare using cardamon pods, ginger, black pepper and cinnamon with some of the blacks I have.

Gypsy brand bagged teas are actually pretty good. Their Coconut Chai is fantastic.
