Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/25/10 Your favorite place to enjoy TEA?
Feels a little odd to put the car down as a favorite place for enjoying tea, but I associate opening a thermos full of tea in the car with day trips and vacations, getting back to the car after an adventure and delicious tea waiting for me.
The kitchen near the stove is the place for gong fu sessions, another favorite place.
But the last and best is most any place with the cat on my lap, a good book, and a cup of tea at hand.

Definitely on the tea table, whatever may be serving as such, and in whatever locale I happen to occupy or am called to at the time.
No tea room, someday tho, I sincerely hope.
Just finished the day's travel sencha (had to nuke it
).
Followed by a final infusion of moonlight white that came from leaves that sat patiently in the small glass pot since yesterday.
Tea day has been casual, but according to the vicissitudes of real-life.
Cheers.

My favorite place for enjoying all teas is my mind with tea inside my mouth and cup near of my nose for full ration of fragrances...
Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/25/10 Your favorite place to enjoy TEA?
My definite favorite is outside in the garden, on a bright and warm morning in the early summer. Only four months to go...
Second is while reading TeaChat.
Third is my usual tea-enjoying location, namely at the desk while working.
Currently having some sencha for the first time in weeks, if my records are correct.

In warmer weather I love tea in the garden. In colder weather in the bath.
But my favorite place is right here at my desk with TeaChat. Also I have my tea tray here and everything close at hand. So my desk, my tea table and my computer are all the same choice.

My favorite place for tea is in my lift chair recliner with my Air Desk next to me (it has my laptop on it, and a shelf on which to place my tea, etc. In case you are not familiar with an Air Desk, here's an image from their website:

Also, as I use a cane, I have a little basket that I put my tea cup, tea pot, snack, etc. in to carry from kitchen to lift chair. Works great!

Outside, and in the forest for me. I live in a ponderosa pine forest, semi-rural on a very quiet street. I love to get up early on a weekend, head out the front door, and just sit amongst the trees, listening to the birds. Now we just have to wait a few months for the snow to clear

Ya know this poll question has me day dreaming of sipping a cup of tea on the lania when I am in Hawaii next month. Exciting yet I am sad because I am to still wait and do the real world thing untl then. My tea gear and tea WILL be making the trip.
Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/25/10 Your favorite place to enjoy TEA?
Oh Rachel, I will attest, that is the best. Nothing like a lanai in Hawaii with the trade winds blowing and a great cup of tea. Heaven on earth.
Artmom, that looks like a great set up! I never heard of Airdesk before, but they are very functional as well as attractive. I wouldn't mind having one for using the laptop downstairs.

I like drinking tea at my tea table (which is actually my kitchen table). I love to read while drinking tea. AND I especially love reading on my new ebook reader which I treated myself to with my tax return
Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/25/10 Your favorite place to enjoy TEA?
Chip, I love the poll options today!! my favorite is probably " Wow, emoticons work in poll options " hehe
Artmom, that is a great setup! Looks very handy!
I had to go with (in no particular order) a) public tearoom - especially from when I went through a period of depression, tea was one of the only things that would get me out of the house, and I would go to the tea room and sit and drink tea and read my book and be very calm and not have to think about anything for a while. It was also one of the only things I was ever hungry for - their ramen! That aside, there's something about the atmosphere in a good tearoom that makes it a wonderful experience (and I try new things... sometimes), and even though I don't go as often as I might like, I still enjoy it every time I do go.
b) in my kitchen - since I often drink tea while I'm cooking dinner; and then sometimes I'll just stand in the kitchen, drinking tea.
c) other - this, to me, is an amorphous place where I can sit (often on the floor), calmly drink my tea (often from my sole gaiwan), and meditate (sometimes, and usually not when I'm using the gaiwan - I find the gaiwan more... difficult than say a yuinomi or a mug for being able to meditate - but a gaiwan can be calming in its own way)
So there's my long discourse on today's question
This morning, the last of my Sagittarius sampler. I'm thinking I may have to go out during my lunch break and buy an infuser for work so I don't have to use this teaball - it's handy for some things, especially if the leaf is broken up, but not so helpful for unbroken leaves!

Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/25/10 Your favorite place to enjoy TEA?
My tea room is my usual spot. It's where the dining room is supposed to be, so it's right by the kitchen. The house we're renting also happens to have a stellar view overlooking the river valley and the rest of the city, which I can also see from the desk in my tea room, so it's really the perfect spot.
And if not there, then often in the shower, of course! It's getting so that I have a cup in there nearly every time I shower now. Not out of any need to hurry things along, but because I really, really love it.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 2/25/10 Your favorite place to enjoy TEA?
It is a rather snowy day here in eastern PA, and all I can do is hope the mail still gets delivered today!
But inspired by the white outside, I wanted to bring the white globyness inside to my own tearoom/bedroom. I do not know if its my favorite spot for tea, I do not really have one as I'm not living anywhere long enough right now to really get a very nice tea room set up (life of a student)
Speak of the devil the package I was expecting in the mail came... look forward to new hagi photo's in a bit!

Thanks Adam for coloring TeaDay!
I enjoy drinking tea while reading and riding my bike while in the shower ... all at the same time.
OK, seriously. In the kitchen with all the wares close at hand. In fact, the kitchen is more of a tearoom than a kitchen it would seem.
At the 'puter checking on TC ... or tea sites.
At the TeaTable wherever that may be.
Some sound great, like the garden or in the forest away from civilizartion, but have not figured out how to make that a reality. Although I do frequently take tea outside, but rarely to sit and relax.
Began the TD with the 2009 shincha which was very good again. Again SweeTea was present for the tasting while Lil Bit and Pyrit stopped by the TeaTable for a visit.
