(Yet Another Pu-erh Identification)
A friend just gave me two of these
that had been given to him by a colleague from Singapore. I've not seen the like, and would appreciate learning more. The bag said something like "Special Pu-erh 2004." The spheres are about 1"/3cm in diameter, with leaves carefully layered throughout; compression is minimal. Leaf is raw/sheng from appearance and aroma. The liquor does not taste good to me, and not really like tea: slightly astringent, and very sweet in a way that's more like honey or artificial sweeteners than any pure tea I've tasted.
And another: brought my own Menghai V93 to a Chinese restaurant for lunch. As always, offered to pay for water service; as usual, they declined. As always, offered to share brew with the waiters; as usual a few accepted. Then one brought out her own cake, which I thought much better than mine (forgive the phone-photo):
She transcribed the label:
Only character I can make out is the one for tea. Could anyone here please help identify this cake?
Thanks in advance-

Re: YAPID
The first two mini Tuo, judging from its surface appearance, a lot of old leaves and stalks are in the tea. Can not judge the quality of tea unless drinking. But from the look only, probably it is not so high grade.
The latter one is from the Yunnan Cha Shu Wang Tea Company from Menghai county.
I can not find the company's founding year. I can only track the company's activities in google starting from 2007.
Only taste their teas once in Dongguan tea expo.

Re: YAPID
I should have been more clear: the two small "cakes" are spherical, not bowl-shaped like tuocha. The size is about right for one ball for one big pot. I have not seen tea pressed into this shape before. I would guess a special presentation tea, except the taste is so bad!
