Shoulda done this first, probably? /ftl

by myemmie » Mar 2nd, '10, 23:51

Hello! I've been a long-time tea stalker (looking at my Adagio account shows I registered several years ago!), and would pop over here occasionally when I had a question - which was/is/will continue to be n00b - and always found the answer, so I never really "jumped in." Then I noticed the Signature Blends, and decided to make one for my mom and grandmother, who are Lipton-Or-Bust Southern Sweet tea kinds of gals. Then I started playing around even more. Then I started posting a few things here and there in the chat forums...and looking at the Board Index I've gotten quite chatty, lol. Finally(!) a few minutes ago I noticed the intro post, and figured it'd probably behoove of me to not be random!girl anymore and make my formals.

I won't dare to imagine what you can glean about me from all ^that^ :D, so I'll go into my tea history: I'm a traitor. I'm from TN, and I don't like sweet tea...nor do I like cornbread, or anything comprised of a 'grit'. So after striking out on my own as a young adult, I was determined to make tea my own way, thanks so very much; but, sadly, if you just withhold sugar from grocery tea it doesn't always help. My Awakening came in the form of a Lapsang Souchong in the local take-away shop. I was in love. So then naturally I started foraging around the 'webs for purveyors, but the few catalogs I received were written in that tea-binary "FTGF OP half-caf no foam 120 degrees" shenanigans, and I became disheartened. I'm a food adventurer, love tins with labels I can't read, lol, so in just wandering through various markets and arounds I was able to find a few things I was partial to...then along came Adagio, and that's been about it. I still pick up random strikes-of-fancy, but here is where I've established my staples, which have grown to include: Earl Grey Bravo (everyone's favorite), Genmai Cha, and Jasmine Silver Needle. As of late though, like I said, I've become completely devoted to scouring the SB's...I love the idea of tea + individual creativTEA (everyone else does the TEA thing, too, lol) and, now that I know what I like, I enjoy experiencing a concept - something that has a little bit of a person's love in it as well.

So that's me - see ya around!
