So often times, artisans from one country borrow from another. Korea is home to the origins of Hagi-yaki for instance. Sometimes the line has been crossed back and forth so many times it is hard to decide what are the origins. I felt it was appropriate to include some Hagi from Japan in the background, an homage to its Korean roots.
Fom here, we can explore Korean teaware, often obscure to most of us, and oft overlooked as a unique and different source for some very interesting pieces for those so inclined.

This set (not including the Japanese cooler) blurs the lines, named a travel set and imported by Hankook, this travel set was made by a Korean artisan though I will have to inquire again. The influence crosses several borders including Japan (houjin) and China/Taiwan (what we call gaiwanesque).
I love the feel of this set, smooth and textured at the same time ... and white for those purist moments when only white will do.
This set is great for many types of tea, but I tend to brew mostly Korean greens (pictured) and Japanese greens.
