Yesterday TeaChatters indicated they preferred domestic vendors by a 3 to 2 margin. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Welcome one and all to another TeaDay. Shall we brew...and then share what is in our cups today...all day? Dont' forget to check out what everyone else is sipping as well. You can also reflect back on your TeaDay if you need to!
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic takes us off the subject of vendors (for now anyway). A little frivolous posting about each other. It is a "let's get to know each other day!" So, besides Tea, what other food related serious interests or hobbies do you have. I am sure I missed many on the poll. So share now... and details please!
I am as always looking forward to seeing everyone on TeaDay! Bottoms up...refill...repeat many times!

Re: Saturday TeaRoom 3/6/10 Passion foods?
Tough one! I, of course, like chocolate and baked goods. I'm fond of cheese, naturally. I might even be interested in sushi if it's vegetarian, but I'm not altogether 'serious' or 'passionate' about any of these.
I went with Fruits, Veggies, and Other. The 'Other' being a good slice of ham, a nice steak, or even a well-seasoned chicken breast.
I've always loved my fruit and veg though, much to the chagrin of my family, who don't particularly care for the smell of steamed broccoli or a baking onion (both of which I love). And partially to my chagrin, because I'm now rather afraid to eat mangoes, one of my favourites, because it brought me out in a poison-ivy-like rash on my face and especially around the mouth.
At least I have a lot of favourites left to choose from!
In the mug; Irish breakfast with lemon (oh look, a fruit!).

Any of our 'Southern' delicacies...deep fried, of course.
No tea tonight- other than some iced sweet tea in the travel mug- at work. I loaned out my electric kettle to the wife and it hasn't made it's way back to me, yet.

Heh prolly chocolate. I've started to take interest in both cheese and wine, but I dunno, they are pricy and a little pretentious.

Wine and spirits, I guess. Not that I drink much of either one, but I do maintain a certain interest in red wines, Scotch whisky, and, for some reason, Armagnac.

Gotta love the beer. And cheese. And fresh baking. And home cooking.
I just love food.

I don't have any strong passions about specific foods but I am passionate about cooking. Doesn't matter what it is, if it sounds tasty and its in my budget, I'll 'try' to make it.
Re: Saturday TeaRoom 3/6/10 Passion foods?
If it's food, I'm interested. That being said, I love to cook - baking is probably my specialty - and I love trying new things, especially ethnic foods (sushi/Japanese/Indian/French are favorites, but also included is, well, anything. German isn't on the short list of "awesome," but is still enjoyable most of the time). I love wine, cheese, chocolate, seafood, the smell of rising yeast, and pretty much anything that comes out of the oven and can fill the house with the smell of amazingness - be it with chocolate, bread-products, or herbs/seasonings.
Wuyi this morning in the car (yay for travel mugs!), currently sitting at the salon waiting for my boyfriend to get finished with a client so we can eat lunch. Den's orange sencha shortly.

Chocolate! Canoli! Cheesecake! Tiramisu! Coffee! Hazelnut icecream! Apricot Ruggi (a horn like baked dessert)! French fruit tarts!
Oh I feel caffeinated just thinking of them!
Should meal entries included?

Cheese and fruits, together or separately, are my passion. I enjoy fine dining and wines, but those are both limited now by physical matters. Chocolate is also limited for the same reason, but I do have some special imported Belgian dark chocolate that I really enjoy and treat myself to every so often!
Basically, I enjoy eating almost anything!
Never did get to trying the green tea yesterday. Perhaps today.

Cooking is my profession, but strangely not really a hobby. Most of my meals are eaten at work "on the fly". A few times a month I'll experiment at home though.
Single Malt scotch is a passion for me, albeit one I lack the funds to really dive into. Usually try one or two each year.
A finely crafted beer puts a smile on my face. I prefer them hoppy (IPA's and the like), but just about any small batch brew will do. (My local favorite is Troegs HopBack).
Chocolate...I try every one I can get my hands on. The darker the better. If you like beer, try pairing it with dark chocolate. Yum! I highly recommend Scharffen Berger.
