I have recently started to expand my palate of green teas - and started with a sampler from Den's. In the sampler was the Organic Sencha which I liked very much - and I have purchased another 2oz.
I have found that at the bottom of my cup is a bit of sediment which I just wanted to check if this was normal with a green tea. Here is a photo of the last bits of my cup. I find this with the second brew as well.
I had started with brewing it in my IngenuiTEA, but have since purchased Den's starter Kyusu for my green's. I had the same results with both.

That is quite usual with more steamed sencha-s. Some people say you should try and drink it before the sediment collects at the bottom, i.e. while its still suspended. But with the larger yunomi-s and wans it is hard unless you are only filling them less than half way full, because of heat retention.
If it bothers you which it sometimes does to me, drink down close to that point, and simply dump the lass little bit.

Many of the senchas I have tried had the same thing left in the bottom. I think this is normal, no worries drink it if you want or pour it out like I do most of the time

Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to be sure I was not doing something wrong. I usually just dump it, but if its light I will go ahead and consume.

When the tiny leaf particles are still in suspension, this is what makes steamed greens' liquor sooo green. Once the particles sink to the bottom, the liquor tends to be more yellow.
Drink 'em up, I say!
Nice photo, you need more Hagi!

You are so right Chip! I only have the one - but I at least need to get one more so I can use it for my non green teas. I am already thinking of the cabinet I will need for a collection

When I get down to the last gulp I swirl my cup around until they are back in suspension and then down it

+1
hate to pour new tea into a cup with a lot of debris in it--just feels wrong.

Yup... Perfectly normal... Swirl it up and down the hatch!
