Welcome EVERYONE to TeaDay. Please brew some tea and share with us what is in your cup today. Remember to stop back often and provide us with updates. If you must, reflect back on your TeaDay. Of course, check out what is in everyone elses cup as well, lots of fun in that!!!
Yesterday we discussed brewing dislikes. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic sounds simple, maybe. But think about it a bit before responding ... take a look at your precious or not so precious teaware that also brings many of us a lot of joy. So, which is your favorite...your tea or your teaware??? Share with us what decision you made.
I look forward to hearing from all of you on TeaDay. Cheers.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 3/24/10 Tea Teaware Wars?
It's a tie - mainly because, for me, the point of either is moot without the other.
The two so inextricably relate to one another for me, a sort of dancing, ever changing yin/yang with neither dominating either polarity, rather, each sharing, shifting, dancing, spiraling, swaying, to and fro, sharing, exchanging, forming the relationship.
Sheeesh... don't know where that came from - perhaps the tea? (I'm having an intense late night tea session - Organic Ancient Snow Buds, the final infusion of my j g mix, and puerh - I'm a three fisted drinker! I think I'm stoned on tea.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 3/24/10 Tea Teaware Wars?
I have not yet invested in any teaware that is anything like as nice as my tea, although I finally have a few pieces that I do quite like.
I can imagine falling in love with a cup that tempt me to change my vote, but I'm trying to stick to my vow not to get anything extra special until I can provide a tile-free kitchen that might improve the chance of a special piece of teaware surviving more than a few weeks of my clumsiness.
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, for now.
It will take a pretty amazing bit of pottery to be more wonderful than the white tea I scented with citrus flowers this weekend.

Close - but Teaware
Great tea, is sublime and there are fond and lasting memories
but teaware can be experienced again and again and again, viewed, admired and fondled!
and a glimpse of great teaware can be just the stimulus to break open a new session of a great tea!

Got to say teaware... My yixing, it has become like a dear friend to me. And it always brews such wonderful tea.
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 3/24/10 Tea Teaware Wars?
If I had any teaware to write home about, I might be tempted to say teaware. But I don't, so I definitely have to go with Tea... for now. Definitely subject to change.
Disclaimer: this is not to say that I don't enjoy the teaware I have, because I do, but I don't feel like I have anything special, it's mostly fairly ordinary. I have a couple pieces I really do enjoy using, but it's not something I really have to think about (yet): "What teaware to use today?" It's all determined by tea, and thus tea is the clear winner for me.
No tea yet, stopped in before work (yay for getting up on time!)

Teaware exists to make and serve tea. Without tea, teaware does not really exist as teaware. Without at least some teaware, no matter how simple or primitive it might be, you can't make or drink tea.
The best teaware supports and compliments the best tea. The best tea compliments and supports the best teaware. Synergistic relationship there.
Dead on tie. Both are a part of day-to-day life that bring a bit of joy into daily living.
best,

I am with John, though I had to choose Teaware just a head of tea.
Simply put I feel I can rationalize teaware purchases better than tea purchases, so even though I have enjoyed some great tea, and great tea is spectacular, teaware is much much more permenant (hopefully)
But that being said I would not have my teaware if I did not enjoy tea as much as I do.

Tea Hands Down. Maybe I am looking at the question differently, but you must have tea to fully enjoy the teaware. You can enjoy tea without the teaware. Love my teaware no doubt, but it's all about the tea.
In my cup this morning - Darjeeling Oolong.
Have a nice day everyone!

This morning I'm drinking Passion Fruit black tea from Hawaii Tea Company.
For me, it is the tea that I love. While teaware is important, I can make do with any teaware...so long as I have the right tea (and the right water! also very important!)

All for the tea!
As long as I have something to brew the tea in and decent water I'm a happy camper.
Having a 1st infusion of yutaka midori, started the day with a bowl of matcha and a glass of thai tea to knock out a mechanics of materials test... too early for that mumbo jumbo haha! One of my friends broke the knob off the top of my kyusu again!!! argggg! Using my cheapie porcelain pot!
Have a great tea day dudes!

"Close, but I say teaware." This was a difficult choice. However, I can't remember crying over spilt tea (or leaves) but have cried over broken teaware! Most of my teaware speaks to me of family and friends, some long gone now. It reminds me of my youth, my young sons sharing tea with me after their school day, my mama and I doing the same thing in my school days. Memories.
No tea yet this morning.

Teaware for me, I collected the teaware long before I knew how to brew a decent cup of tea.
