Happy happy happy TeaDay everyone. May it be a sweet one. Please stop in and share whart is in your cup throughout the day ... and check out what others are drinking as well.
Yesterday we discussed flavored teas. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is a natural progression and really shuweet. Do you ever sweeten your tea with any kind of sweetener. Please remember to share who what when where and/or why!
Remember, like what you drink and drink what you like. R-E-S-P-E-C-T, give everybody a little!
Here is hoping for a shuweet TeaDay. Bottoms up.

I never sweeten tea from Camellia sinensis, but occasionally sweeten an herbal tisane, if I overdo the hibiscus and make it too sour.
The better I get at brewing my tea, the more sweetness I can coax out of it, and the less I can imagine conceiving of a need for sweetener.

Teapurist here, I don't use sweeteners.
Probably the biggest reason tea unintentionally replaced coffee was because I only liked coffee with lots and lots of creamer and sugar. When I wanted to cut back on sugar it made coffee so bad I would rather cut it out completly. Of couse this wasn't exactly gourmet coffee maybe thats the reason.
I think tea is sooo good without sweetener that adding sweetener doesn't really make it taste any better it just makes it taste different...maybe even funky.

Never, not anymore. Used to a long, long time ago - you know, black tea with cream/milk and sugar; or, a tisane with lemon and honey.
Not anymore tho. Just really despise sweetened tea now. Well, as I write that, I suppose there really is a place for southern sweet tea (black tea iced and sweet) - but rarely, very, very rarely - and I never make it myself - I can only envision enjoying this in the south, with some good BBQ and brunswick stew!

I do sweeten iced tea, about 6-8 teaspoons of sugar per half gallon. Honey may also substitute for sugar. I used to drink all of my teas sweetened but now I rarely add sweetener, unless I'm just in that kind of mood or that tea needs a little help.
I used to use artificial sweeteners, splenda etc but gave them up after all of the health concerns with consuming chlorine or because of taste. Tea helped fill a void left by soda so I didn't really want to fill it back up with more sugar.
BTW I'm excluding chai, which I look at as more of a dessert drink and use sugar and milk.

I never sweeten actual tea. Sometimes a drop of honey in Roobios or other herbals - but not too often.

Just black tea and the occasional Tisane, depending on what it is.
Just a habit with the black tea now, but I still enjoy it that way...

No sweetener for me. For my taste, sugar in coffee or tea doesn't blend well, the flavors remain really distinct; rather than enhancing the flavor of the beverage, it just makes it confusing. Honey seems to blend a little better for my palate, but I prefer to just leave it out.
Drinking some of the mini pu-erh tea brick from puerhshop this morning. Pretty mellow, with nice earth and mild smoke flavors. It's a bit of a mess to brew and clean up, very finely chopped leaf. But it's a killer price for a nice, easy drinking tea.

Used to sweeten with sugar, but have not in 30 or more years. Stopped originally for health reasons, then actually enjoyed it more without.
No tea yet this morning -- in fact, just got up after sleeping about 11 1/2 hours.

Must have needed it.

As a general rule, no sweeteners. I make an exception if I'm sick and need some honey for my throat, or I've oversteeped a black to bitterness but want to try to 'save' it.
White Peony in a moment.
