Welcome one and all to TeaDay! So, fill a pot and share with us what is in your cup today...all day...frequent updates are needed. If you need to, you can stop back and reflect on your TeaDay as well. Make sure, as always, that you check out what everyone else is sipping!

Yesterday we discussed when we begin to decaf. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. TeaMusic. Does music accompany your tea? Please share your TeaMusic preferences.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

I sometimes put on a CD (help, I'm trapped in 1996) of traditional Japanese shakuhachi and koto music when I sip Japanese greens. It adds to the Asian mood, I find.
Other times, a nice ambient tune from some online radio channel accompanies the tea drinking while I work.

Haven't had any tea today.

I'm usually here or in the garden, so no music with tea generally.

Yep, shakuhachi fits perfectly with green teas :). Also a bit indietronica or ambient.

The music however seems to take away some qualities of the tea session, sometimes silence is the proper music.

Since I drink SO much tea......it is kind of a constant in life..... there would have to be music involved almost all day long to say anything other than "not too much".

best,

..............john

Those times when I am drinking tea and can just relax, I will be curled up with my cup of tea and my Kindle reading a good book. So mostly no music.

Started the day with a cup of Earl Grey, now drinking some organic Sencha.

Rarely music. But my Kindle and tea go together fabulously--better even when I used to read printed books -- cup in one hand, Kindle in the other -- no pages to turn!!! :D

No tea yet this morning but am looking forward to a good TeaDay.

Music sometimes, but not usually.

Drinking some Nilgiri Glendale this morning, and getting ready to try icing a tea that I'm not thrilled about called Lemon Drops. I was going to order one ounce of it, but while re-arranging my order, I accidentally changed Lemon Drops to four ounces, and the tea I wanted four ounces of to only one ounce. :x I wouldn't mind if I really *loved* the Lemon Drops, but unfortunately, I don't. Keeping my fingers crossed that it is better iced.

I don't really consider the two connected in any way. Sometimes I drink tea, sometimes I listen to music, and sometimes they overlap. But I wouldn't considering music to be a part of my tea-drinking experience or anything.

I actually forget what tea I am drinking right now (perhaps a sign I have way, way too many different samplers). It is a very nice green though.

Thanks, Geeber!

Nice cup of darjeeling this morning. I love having all these new samples!!! It's easy to try a different tea every day -- or every brew! :D

I have background noise at home most of the time... TV or music, but more often TV. I don't usually consciously decide to pair tea and music, although I probably should make more effort to create some mood/ambience/relaxation.

Kindle accompanies tea nearly every day... I enjoyed the fact that there were some other Kindle lovers posting today. I have enjoyed mine SO much.

Lady Grey from Twinings in my cup... loose leaf, not bag. This is my favorite version of any Earl Grey type I've tried. I discovered it in a restaurant in Epcot Center last year... sipping a glass of unsweetened iced tea with lunch, expecting generic teabag tea, and I got this lovely crisp hint of citrus, but not overwhelming. A delicious tea, hot or cold.

Im not that into music, I listen to it in the car and while working or at the gym but thats it. I like to drink outside where I want to enjoy the sounds of nature rather than music.

qi lan in my cup today

I like to drink a lovely cup of awesome sencha while cranking up Deep Purple, Zep, AC/DC, Jimi, and especially Kiss (while I am dressed in my Gene Simmons costume)! Or dancing to the Bee Gees. 8)

OK, maybe not ... if I am in the mood for it or think of it, I might play something easy to listen to, usually female vocals or no vocals. Priscilla Ahn (a friend for many moons), Enya ... or similar.

OR some Asian fairly traditional music.

But more times than not, no music.

Began the TD with Suimei Gyokuro from Den's ... last of another Japanese tea ... it is getting desperate around here!!! SweeTea enjoyed some of the last of this precious dew while Precious visited and Ceylon was "moonwalking" MJ style, though a cappella, on the TeaTable.

Tried Adagio's Gunpowder Tea today. Another green that will wait on Granddaughter's return from Japan -- so that she may make it for me. I just don't do green correctly.

I didn't enjoy it (can you tell  ) and made a cup of Black Pearl to wash it down!!

I am not a fan of Gunpowder Greens, period. I do not feel they really represent finer greens. It would almost be like Lipton versus a fine Keemun. No comparison.

nice new Avie, ArtMom.
