2010 Dayi

by TeaEye » Apr 13th, '10, 18:56

I just saw 2 new 2010 Menghai cakes on the Dragon Tea House site. They both appear to have a "standardized" wrapper. A 7542 (without the expected batch # - 001?) and a Silver Peacock.

Any ideas what is up?

I've got all four of them. The books are great, but they are pricy, even here, in China. Their heartbreaking though because there are so many teas I'd like to have and don't.

Get some slightly older teas if you have the chance, even those 03,04. They'll be 10y.o before you know it.

With those 2010 prices, I can get older tea from another factory which are much much more potential and tasty!

He only offers the original two, 2005 and 2006. I live in China and got mine elsewhere. I have 2005-2008

As soon as I heard about the higher prices for this years maocha, I knew we would be in for a wild ride. Personally, I'm sticking with some of the older stuff. Hopefully the following years will be lower, and Bless those poor Chinese farmers having to take such a hit due to the weather.
