It is TeaDay everyone. So, bring your cup of tea and share with everyone what teas you are drinking today. Half the fun is seeing what teas other TeaChatters are sipping as well.
Yesterday we discussed our preferences when it comes to black teas. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Share with us if you care to about your experience with Oolong tea. Love it, like it, hate it, yet to try it. Let it all out here. Are there some Oolong teas you like more than others?
I will be looking for you on TeaDay and hope you honor us with sharing what is in your cup! Bottoms up.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I have had some very good oolong tea and some awful oolong tea. Right now, I can take it or leave it. It is definitely not something I go out of my way for.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I like my morning sencha, adore a sweet and earthy puerh, swoon for a delicate white tea, but always come back to oolong. Spicy, sweet, toasty, roasty, floral, rich, savory.....it was my gateway drug to tea, and remains my once and future favorite.
Today had a sencha start (Den's Zuiko, a brilliant first infusion, screwed up the 2nd infusion by forgetting it, undrinkable sadness); got things back on an even keel with the always beloved red-label Sea Dyke Brand Ti Kuan Yin, then lightened up again with some nice organic Dragon Well from Wing Hop Fung.
Now debating which oolong to take to a sadly Teavana'd office tomorrow, to bring light unto those who brew in darkness....already picked out the first two puerh beengs....

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
We do like our oolongs here, but have trouble finding very good ones locally. We drink a pot a day, maybe two. Recently haven't had any good Chinese oolong, but we specifically like the very well-made wuyi varietals and quality Taiwanese oolongs made from the qin xin varietal. I haven't had a decent dong-ding or baozhong in quite a while. I have to say no to su ji chun unless I am desperate and TGY usually makes me a bit queasy, like a cup of bad aftershave
. Overall though, I like 'em and have a separate yixing pot every kind we drink! v(^^)=u

oolongs are either a hit more miss with me. I don't like greener oolongs but love dark roasted ones.

I've only recently started drinking Oolongs seriously and now usually drink them most days.
I love both darker roasted Chinese ones e.g. Dan Cong, Wuyi, Bai Hao &c. But also Taiwanese greener oolongs such as Alishan & Don Ding. I currently have some very pleasant TGY and Wuyi "Big Red Robe" on rotation at the moment.
Mojiang Yunnan Golden Needle from Yunnan Sourcing to start the day!

I'd drink oolong more, if I'd have more types of it. Now I only have two... Tea shop is calling me again
.
Yunnan FOP for morning again. Maybe Snow Dragon soon.
The tap water in Turku sucks. It has had a weird sidetaste ever since I moved here, and even the people living here say it tastes funny. Now in spring it has aqcuired a new, moldy/earthy quality... Bleh.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I drink oolong occasionally. Recently, I have tried ooooh darjeeling and jasmine #12 from Adagio. Also, I have Anxi Oolong from Silk Road Teas. I like oolong as an afternoon tea.
Hope your TeaDay suits you to a Tea!

Oolong only occasionally for now, but I just could not resist clicking the 'Buy' button on Adagio's sampler Maestro oolongs - so maybe more coming up soon!
Started today with Black Dragon Pearls, Fukamushi-Sencha in my cup right now.

I looove oolong ... all kinds, but especially wuyi and tieguanyin... I'm still on the quest for a life changing oolong though, going to try da hong pao and see what it's all about.
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
Well it probably goes without saying that it is all about oolong for me. That is what brought me here, that is what I mostly drink. And although I do love black teas and have them most mornings and have done a lot of promoting of them, it's still all about the oolong.
In fact my favorite black teas are those that lean toward oolong.
2010 FF Jungpana Estate in my cup this morning.

Was an oolong freak until falling heavy and hard for sencha.
Still love a good oolong - roasted or greenish. I love it when their heavenly aromas fill the room during steeping before you even take the first sip!
Have a good day, everyone!

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I used to only drink oolongs as my primary tea. But then they became difficult on my system, too acidic, and I started to prefer the richness of China black teas. But, as the song says, "Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most" and I've discovered a nice buttery Tie Quan Yin I'm drinking as the aroma of spring gets to me these days ...
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/14/10 Oolong, take it or leave it?
I am an occasional Oolong drinker, and prefer the "greener" Oolongs to the more roasted ones. I especially like Osmanthus Oolong, which is kinda weird since I don't like any other flowery teas.
