Which whisk for usucha (thin) maccha?
I own two whisks: one having 120 tines and the other 80 tines. Which whisk would be preferred for thin style maccha with froth? Would it be a personal preference where I'd need to "tune" my whisking method to my preferences and find which whisk works best for the particular ingredients?

... more the merrier for usacha.
This will give you better froth.
For Koicha, less is best.
But TeaExperiments are always best.

Both should work well for usacha. My chasen has about 70 tines and I get good results with it. For koicha, I have a chasen with 48 tines (less fragile)

Yes, i agree. They all work just fine. Depends more on the tea and the wrist than the whisk. Though you can get the very fine, creamy foam more quickly sometimes the more tines you have.
