Adagio Maestro Jasmine Pearl

- Adagio Maestro Collection Fijian Jasmine Pearl -

I am having this for the first time today. The official release has not happened yet, but it is available in the pre-release sample set found here:
http://www.adagio.com/maestro/index.htm ... 5af8ba3899

The idea behind these special edition teas is to give tea enthusiasts access to step up to finer quality single estate teas. That being said I will confess upfront I am not a big jasmine tea follower or enthusiast. But I have tasted several and for sometime have been wanting to try a good quality Jasmine Pearl. I was happy to find this as part of the four-pack in the Maestro Collection.

The first thing that struck me just so happened to defeat the very thing I feared. I was worried that the tea would taste flavored, artificial or worse yet - soapy. But that did not happen, not this tea. The taste is quite nice, the beautiful fragrance is subtle and does not overpower. There is some jasmine in the taste of course, but nothing artificial, nothing soapy.

This tea brews up a light golden color and has a nice body to it. I was quite pleased and will most definitely purchase some of this when it makes its official debut.

For those wondering - the sample tin weighed in at approximately 38g.

Thanks Adagio for this new collection!

Victoria,
All the tastings of the Maestro series around TC lately has piqued my curiosity, so I ordered the oolong set. Should be here Tues. and just in time since my oolong stash is getting low :(

I, too, am not a big fan of Jasmine teas but your description puts it in a more favorable light. I've only drank one that I really enjoyed and that was at a Chinese New Year banquet. The rest were bad quality tea from the start, so adding the jasmine just made it taste like "jasmine scented" really bad tea
