Saturday TeaDay 4/24/10 Caffeine Consumption Scale?

by Chip » Apr 24th, '10, 02:15

Welcome to TeaDay, come share your cup with everyone, see what everyone else is sipping, and answer the Poll.

Yesterday we discussed open teas and ones we were currently cunsuming. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Some time ago, Tenuki posted regarding caffeine consumption. I nicked this the Tenuki Caffeine Consumption Scale (TCCS). So, where are you on the caffeine consumption scale? Please feel free to have some fun with this on TeaDay today!

And of course, have a great TeaDay! I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone.

I don't see what caffeine has to do with the fact that I am flying and am a space samurai. :D I broke my caffeine response a long time ago. I can drink 3 pots of green puer and 3 of yunnan black and sleep like a baby 30 minutes later. So, I have no idea how much caffeine I consume...

I'm so numb to caffeine it doesn't do much for me, except give me headaches if I refrain from tea.

Sencha this morning

Not being sure if this was overall consumption or consumption as of *right now* today, I'll go with right now, which is.... caffeine please! Just got up and headed in to work with my boyfriend today, so caffeine will definitely be consumed in the next 20-30 mins.

MF Marco Polo, I think.

Must have me some creation of the gods, caffienated tea as I'm feeling like I was run over with a semi. Or a team of semi's. Love what I do, but the hours this week are killing me. Seeking out something strong and dark this morning.

I'm usually in the "Ooops, not gonna sleep tonight" category. I need to cut off at around 3:00 PM and I usually don't. No buzz though. I only feel the effect when it's not in my system.

I'm going for Adagio's Sagitarrius blend this morning-- a comforting Earl Grey.

Uggg...Unfortunately all my good tea is packed up for a move, so have been drinking more coffee. Which = more caffeine. Although I should be getting some more tea in the mail for immediate consumption soon  .

Not sure which choice best describes caffeine and how it effects me. I know I will get a headache if I do not consume enough, however it does not contribute to keeping me awake at night.

At times I definitely am buzzed and am a flying space samurai, other times no noticeable 'reaction'. So I guess bottom line is I like caffeine and it likes me. Still no vote ...

Delish 'mystery'? sencha this morning with mucho cats attending the TeaParty at the SenchaHouse.

Here's to a TEAriffic TeaWeekend everyone!

I used to feel a distinct lift with each cup of tea, when morning thunder was the only caffeinated stuff I drank and I drank it a few times a month or less.

Now that I drink it regularly, but skip the mate and drink more dilute brews, I can't be sure I'm getting any lift at all. On those days when I have to start without my sencha, because I oversleep or whatever, I don't notice any lack of alertness. I do try not to start a new series of infusions too soon before bed, but again, haven't had trouble sleeping if I do.

I do notice that a lot of chocolate before sleep does keep me up.

I am not yet tea'd up, but expect some sencha or gyokuro to be started shortly. Now rinsing the cheapo yixings that have been soaking overnight with their designated teas. Time to take another ID photo for the cabinet--a couple of additions since the last one--to keep the all the pots & their sizes straight.

Mmm, the Sagittarius blend is good. I might have to order that next time around, my sample is long gone.

I think I'm somewhere between 'nicely buzzed, thank you,' and 'oops, not gonna sleep tonight.' But I have never thought of it as being buzzed when I drink tea, it's more of being more awake and aware.

Nilgiri Neela in my cup this morning. I'm getting ready to make a pitcher of iced tea, possibly Tao of Tea's Lemon Drops, which is really disliked hot, but is pretty great iced.
