Newbie, oldie, former TeaChat lurkers, everyone is welcome to participate in our discussion on TeaDay!!! Please also share what is in your cup thoughout the day.
Yesterday we again discussed gender bias, this time with tools of the TeaTrade. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
We will return to the gender preference theme we began to explore the last few days. I found it very fascinating. But today, the discussion is about what do we do when we are doing what we love to do, drink tea. So, what activity do like to enjoy doing the most when you are sipping??? Please share here. This is a little bit of getting to know a little bit about each other. I think it is a great subject!!!
So, share what is in your cup today, see what everyone else is sipping, and jump into the discussion. Since our passion is unusual, I bet what we like to do will be a very interesting.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/28/10 What to do while sipping?
Ah, interesting question.
Sometimes I play mahjong solitaire with my tiles, often I play harmonica or flute.
Rarely I listen to some relaxing music, like shakuhachi.
Sometimes I surf on teachat or read The Leaf, but when it comes to high quality tea, there's really just one option - to sit there quietly and enjoy the tea.
Today... Well, at least snow dragon!

The majority of the time when I enjoy tea at home is basically family time. Both the kids want to try some, wifey and I talk a little about it, etc.

Among the other 4, I checked "other".
Other could have covered it all though. "Other" for me means "anything and everything".
Tea just "is".

I love to read and write tea reviews while sipping tea. I seldom get the chance to read while drinking tea, too many other distractions, but it is prized time when the occasion arises.

Hmm...reading and writing are first because that is what happens most often. I love it when I can take my tea outside and just enjoy it without distraction. A little too chilly this morning to do that! Brrr!
Just had some Yunnan to wake up. Not sure if it did the trick. Maybe some Keemun next...

My absolute favorite activity while sipping tea is reading on my Kindle. I also enjoy tea while writing prose or poetry, watching TV, visiting art forums on the internet, being here in TeaChat, and just experiencing the zone I can get into with tea; remembering all those I have shared a cuppa' with through joy and sorrow, good times and bad. I particularly remember my Italian friend who taught me to sit and savor the aroma from the tea back in 1973. Before then, I just knew I loved tea--I didn't know why!

I think there needed to be an "all of the above" option.
At home I usually have either a cup of hot tea or a glass of iced tea at hand all the time, so pretty much anything I do involves tea!
Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/28/10 What to do while sipping?
I selected reading/writing, the internet, and hobby/craft.
My hobby is pipe smoking, and I find that, combined with a cup of tea, to be so relaxing that it is almost coma inducing.
My newest pipe (and best) is the one on the right.

Brewing the next steep, enjoying/sharing the tea experience, TC/TD, listening to music, reading writing.
Began the TD with the very last of a great prototype sample from an undisclosed source of a GRRRREAT Yutaka Midori served up in a Deishi Biwa wan. Sad to see it gone. So is SweeTea. Joined also by Ceylon, Wulong and newbie Shincha!
Next up will be a first time ever expresso shot of Kame Gyokuro from O-Cha ... should be interesting indeed!

When I have the time, I prefer to ``Just enjoy the Tea experience''. By that I mean taste the tea critically. If anyone else is tasting with me then I will arrange side-by-side comparisons.

Re: Wednesday TeaDay 4/28/10 What to do while sipping?
I read, study, surf TeaChat, draw or paint, and talk with my friends while sipping. Basically, it depends upon my current homework and exam situation... I either seek relaxation while overworking myself
or I drink tea to enhance an already calm moment. But I also drink tea while running errands, while at colloquiums for my major, while out and about (huzzah for thermoses!
), etc.

I second that one! Glad to see some fellow Kindle folks on TeaChat. I can enjoy my two favorite things at the same time.artmom wrote:My absolute favorite activity while sipping tea is reading on my Kindle.
Been sipping on some Maestro TKY this afternoon.
