Monday TeaDay 5/10/10 TeaDay biggie?

by Chip » May 10th, '10, 00:35

I hope you enjoy massive quantities of TEA today. But regardless of how much you consume, I hope it brings you joy. And I hope you share it with us here on TeaDay.

Welcome to TeaDay, share with everyone what is in your cup...right now, and throughout the day. So, visit often and post freely. We all want to know what everyone is drinking. Since we can't drink every tea, it is exciting to hear whatever it is you are drinking.

I know I really enjoy reading all the posts and learning a little something about everyone along the way. Today should be no exception.

Yesterday was Mother's Day in the USA. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is very subjective in nature. The options are very vague. Try not to be too hard on me. Tea has a different level of importance in each of our lives. Today, let's share about how big a part of our lives TEA actually is. I am excited to hear your responses. Please be sure to share your thoughts on the subject.

See you on TeaDay everyone!!!

I don't like these vague options. See, I bet you wondered if anyone even reads the title thread each day.

For me, it depends on the day...pretty big on my "weekends" off of work and more of a habit on work days, unfortunately.

It's big. Tea is an integral part of the workday. Without it, I'd be much less effective.

Having some White Peony today.

hmmm depends on how I look at it. I choose "small part" because If Im considering the time aspect its like an hour a day making tea and drinking it so really its not that time consuming.
but If I think about how much I enjoy that hour of time making/drinking its my favorite everyday activity. So the joy I get from tea is HUGE but the time envolved is very small.

Long jing to start the morning.

Tea is a pretty big, as in bigger than merely big, part of my day. I like the way that tea makes me feel. I like the way that it wakes me up by stimulating parts of me (taste senses) that would otherwise remain dormant, somewhat like the way pre-meditation yoga helps you to `be present'. Tea is not a spiritual experience for me but it helps me reach a state where I can more easily be in touch with my spirituality.

Also, I love tasting things, so good tea provides a minor reward for myself every day.

I picked "Big" although it does depend on the day. During the workweek my Tea drinking is normally only in the evenings..but its a large part of my every evening routine. On the weekends a bit more since i drink more tea during the morning as well.

Humongous part of my day!!!! I spend only about an hour a day actually drinking it, but making it, thinking about it, researching about it, reading books about it or with a tea theme (such as in a mystery), consumes a large portion of my day. (Can you tell I don't get out much? )

Also, since joining TeaChat, a large portion of my day is consumed with trying to figure out where to store all the samples I keep buying! So far, my ever-so-patient DH has not complained that I am rapidly taking over the kitchen counter, squeezing his coffee stash and pot, etc. into ever less space!

No tea yet this morning; but a Lochan Tea package arrived today with samples for a Tea Tasting--so we'll see what I decide to have!

Having a bit of mixed Yancha. The last of my White Roosters Crest, and a tiny bit of the Golden Tortoise.

In terms of how big tea is in my day, it really depends on the day. Some days it plays a non-existent part while other days it is the central and driving force in my entire day.

Today I hope its going to be the later.

big I guess, wouldn't kill someone or break into cold sweats if I didn't have any, but I sure do enjoy my tea !

I enjoy the silencing of my mind during a tea session, esp in the morning. It is just me and my tea. A little gateway somewhere else, a time to listen to what my body has to say to me, and a way for me not to forget to appreciate the complexity of the 'simple' things in life.

shanlinxi and Kagoshima Magokoro this morning

Big. Probably too big right now, but I suspect the infatuation stage of the last year will calm down sometime soon. The obsessive compulsive reading about it will lessen, but the tea will remain part of my life.

Started today with Sencha Shin-ryoku from Den's, now on to some Yunnan Wild Arbor 'Oriental Beauty'.

Tea is a huge part of my day. Making and drinking tea during monotonous, long activities (mainly studying, art homework, or being snowed in during the winter) makes them pass by much more quickly, not to mention gives me something to anticipate! And like several other people have said, I also spend a lot of my free time reading about tea or looking at online tea shops.

Unfortunately, I didn't have as much tea today as I have been drinking because I had a final today. As a result, I'm only drinking my first tea of the day right now. (Well, a second steeping of my first type of tea today... ) It's lapsang souchong, something on my "need to get more soon" list, but summer break and tea shopping are within reach (four more days!!!), so it's fine.

Really big, huge - for me. Thinking about tea, making tea, talking about tea, or here reading about tea. It's is pretty huge.

Started the day with some Shan Lin oolong and now I'm having some Baozhong from a year a gao, still pretty good.
