Welcome one and all to TeaDay, please share what is in your cup today...alllll day. So, stop back often if you can. Another option is to reflect back on your TeaDay. While here, be nosey and check out what everyone else is sipping! This is more fun for me than even boasting about my Japanese brews!
Yesterday we discussed our tea futures, one year from now. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic...has either TeaChat and/or TeaDay caused you to try a tea that you were not planning on trying otherwise. Share some details with us...this should be interesting.
I am looking forward to hearing what is in your cups...and what tea we forced you to try!!!

I'm never unwilling to try different teas, but TeaChat has brought my attention to a lot of specific teas that I may not have gotten around to otherwise as well as a few smaller genres. Because of TeaChat, I'll be trying my first shincha this year!

I am too new in TeaChat and hope it will never happen since I have already enough problems drinking all the teas I order.

I was going to say "not yet," but then I realized I learned of the Den's sampler from this forum, so I guess there's that.
This forum has certainly helped me build a large wish list if nothing else, but budget doesn't allow for much exploring lately.
Sencha this morning. I don't drink enough greens lately. They always have such nice memories attached to them.

Definitely both.
I had tasted greens before and didn't care for them. But so many here rhapsodize about sencha and shincha, that I ordered Den's samplers, and my first shincha, only to be warned that the shincha I picked is hard to brew, etc. So I haven't tried the shincha yet. And I still haven't found a green I like. I did find out that I don't particularly care for the greenish oolongs, either.

Yes, teachat was one of the causes that led me to dancong-tea (and wulong). Also various teablogs and pure coincidence showed me the way.

Yes to both - I've found new vendors, new teas-I-love, new teas-I'm-still-getting-to-know (i.e. green), and many teas for the wish-list (some of which come from one or both other categories, and some I haven't tried but really want to).
MF Marco Polo so far today, stopped home during lunch to pick up my new teawares!!!! (Pictures later, I promise, no time before going back to work, I spent too much time drooling over them!)

Absolutely yes to both.
I've tried to resist but usually I cannot help trying many of the teas talked about on here. I hadn't even heard of pu erh before teachat and now I always have some around. I heard so much about fukamushi and long jing so now I have tried and love them both. I could go on all day typing the teas I tried because of teachats influence. The only ones I resist are the expensive ones like matcha, gyokuro and aged pu erh.
shui jin gui in my cup today

Just had a delicious cup of MF Marco Polo. It was just absolutely perfect! Or was it that I've just spent two days just using tea bags

because I didn't feel up to measuring, etc.?! Hopefully, I'll feel up to trying the teas in the Lochan Tea tasting. My first "official" tea tasting.

Greetings ...
I can think of one group of tea that TeaChat surely influenced me to give another shot, Pu-erh. I had only tried it one time upon joining TC over 4 years ago. I think I tried it again within weeks of joining and almost jumped head first into it ... which would have been a huge mistake at the time given my inexperience with Pu-erh. Still, I am much more open to Pu-erh now because of TC.
Began the TD with Yuuki-Cha Yutaka Midori, searching for the "fruitiness" described on their site. Have yet to find this. SweeTea joined in the search while TEAh and Shincha visited the TeaTable.
Next up, Sae Midori by O-Cha.

Yep. Without TeaChat, I probably never would've tried any Japanese greens. I like some of them.
It's time to brew up some Baozhong for immediate consumption, and a pitcher of mugicha for later.

Oh yes. Oolong comes to mind, as well as a number of other varieties. TeaChat has certainly enriched my TeaXperience.
Had some yummy oolong just today, as it happens.

Yes to both! Reading opinions of all the different types of tea has definitely helped me to decide which ones I do and don't want to try-- for example, I realized that both Yunnan and Keemun really appeal to me! Also, it has helped me add many teas to my wishlist (gyokuro and sakura sencha, mostly

).
So far today I've only been drinking steepings of a piece chipped off my pu brick. Not a lot of variety, but mmm!
