Sunday TeaDay 5/23/10 Users and their names ...

by Chip » May 23rd, '10, 00:43

Welcome to a Friday edition of TeaDay. All are welcome to share what is in their cup today. So fill up and tell the TeaWorld what you are drinking today, all day! Make sure you also check out what everyone else is drinking as well! If you need to, you can reflect back on your TeaDay as well.

Yesterday we discussed "where in the world are you?" You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic is a little break from intense tea discussion and gives us a chance to learn a little something about our fellow TeaChatters. Share what is the meaning of your User Name! Do you use it on any other forums?

I will see you all on TeaDay!!! Remember, it is Sunday as well, so Tea should taste even better today!?!?

It's roughly half of my name... I've really never had any nicknames, so those are never an option for me.

About to head to bed- just got home from going out after work. Was fun though, and glad I went. Will post later about what I have once I wake up...

KY - Kentucky, that would be where I live. :D
midwife - origins mean: "with woman", usually refering to a woman who supports and assists women during childbirth. That would be me. :D

2am, no tea now... off to bed I go.

Just popped-up after having gotten tired in other lists of being told that or that name is already taken. I think behind is "chingarassa" from an old song. :?

I know you said "usually", but as you say, the "wife" in the term refers to the person giving birth, so "midwife" is gender-neutral.

Mine is actually a nick my twin brother used... Somehow I ended up stealing it years ago and it just stuck to me.

Mine is from a fanfiction that one of my best friends and I co-wrote when we were in high school-- it had a pair of talking peanut butters named (you guessed it) Skippy and Jif. I use it on the one other forum I visit and some of the art sites to which I belong.

Currently drinking some pu-erh with magnolia petals in it. I'm going to a cafe in about an hour, so I'll see if they have any good tea there as well... Let's hope, anyway.

Many years ago when I took a computer class that required me to create a unix account, I used my initials and unix.

Starting today with more sencha.

Yesterday was a shockingly minimal teaDay--only the morning sencha, no other tea!

Today will be better.

Mine is a username I came up with more than 10 years ago when I used to us AOL Instant Messenger (remember that?). I use it for all sorts of random things since. I picked it up from a Conan O'Brien skit that had something to do with apes at the beach. It was funny...but I don't really remember it any more.... I guess I've just lost the creativity to come up with a new one.

yay I get to talk about hockey again on teachat

brad=my name, 44= Todd Bertuzzi's #, 19= Marcus Naslund's #.

Usually I have a #7 in between the 44 and 19 like my e-mail address because thats Brenden Morrisons # but I decided it was to many #'s. I will make this short, My favorite team is the Vancouver Canucks and when I first got into hockey about 10yrs ago Vancouvers best line was Bertuzzi, Naslund and Morrison and they were my favorite players.

I had many nicknames but when I went to apply for jobs and school loans I thought I needed a more...appropriate e-mail address so I used my name and these numbers and thats where it started.

shan lin xi in my cup today

An old nickname from junior high. I've been trying to create accounts with a less lame named lately, but that handle is k.d.coopers, and TeaChat doesn't allow ".". So I went with the old dorky standby.

I got the name because I'm really, really, intensely skinny. I used to be self-conscious about it, so my brother started calling me that to make me feel better. I like using it online because if people ever want to make fun of me, they assume I'm fat, so they insult my massive weight, which makes me happy.

Just my way of hiding my identity on the first forum I ever joined on the web. Turned out identity didn't stay hidden for very long, as over the years we began meeting each other in real life and I ended up hosting two quite large get-togethers for a couple of years.

Artmom suited me, as the forum was an art forum, and I love being a mom and Grandmama. :) I painted at that time. Sorry to say, due to health & med issues, my "muse" has gone missing in the last year or so. :|
