Purple Clay as normal drinking cup

I recently got this bigger purple clay cup by Tachi Masaki.



I read that it will make the taste of tea/coffee/water better. I tried using it with green tea and water... and yes, there is this good after taste (even with water).

Now the question: Can I use this purple clay cup all the time as in beside tea, can i use it as my daily water cup. Will there be side effect?

I would say that the cup would be alright to use as a daily water cup besides using it for tea. I however would not suggest using it for coffee or other strong scented beverages because they may taint the cup and affect your next cup of tea. This is just my suggestion however, if you were to use it sparingly for other beverages I would not worry too much about it. Banko clay is not quite as porous as a Hagi clay cup for example. Just make sure you give it a good hot rinse with water after use. But if possible I would only use it for tea and water.

Agreed on the coffee -- anything other than tea (and maybe not even vastly different kinds of tea) will probably be bad news
