by Chip » Jun 3rd, '10, 02:00

Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please stop by often and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed fave tea vendors. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Do you have a current and specific list of fave teas, a fave one, fave 5, fave 10, etc? Please share if this is even possible for you.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

My favorites change from time to time, and some slots have multiple teas. As of right now, my favorites go:

1. Shared by pu-erh and longjing
2. Bi Lo Chun
3. Shared by Yunnan black and rose congou
4. Sencha with jasmine or rose petals
5. Genmaicha

Currently drinking lapsang souchong, which is occasionally on the favorites list.

I don't have a favorites list. I am still in that try almost anything phase so I don't even have teas I have to have in stock yet. I write my thoughts on the teas on steepster and can look back on that, but no definite favorites yet.

My favorites, in no particular order are:
Keemun Rhapsody, Adagio
Nilgiri Neela, Tao of Tea
Nilgiri Glendale Handmade, TeaSource (although my most recent purchase wasn't as tasty as my first - must have been a different harvest)
Mao Feng Noir, Tao of Tea
"No Name" Yunnan from Puerhshop. (I'm in trouble when it's time to re-order)
Peppermint Twist (formerly Three Brothers), TeaSource

There are many, MANY others, but these are the ones that come to mind right now.

Black Spiral from Tao of Tea (another fave!) this morning at home. No tea yet here at work, but I think it will be Nilgiri Blue, again from ToT.

Alright Here it goes:

1. Wuyi Yancha
2. Aged Oolong
3. Puerh
4. Japanese Greens (broad category, I know).
5. Other Oolongs

Though my preference for teaware styles is drastically different than above.

Wow! What a difficult but good poll question this is today. I will think about it through the day and be back later with a list.

While I ponder, Im drinking anxi-tie guan yin today

Though I've loved all the teas I've been purchasing lately (most from Teavana because it was the closest store to me, and I got an employee discount, so please don't hate me), my favorites list has got to be:

1. Utopian Jewel Oolong, Teavana (Raspberry and strawberry oolong)
2. Green Chai, Argo Tea
3. Jasmine Pearls, Sensational Teas and Teavana
4. Fruta Bomba, Teavana (Papaya and tropical fruit green)
5. Apple Lemon Pomegranate, Teavana (technically not a tea, as it's green rooibus, but I've been mixing it with everything and it's absolutely delicious)

Drink what you like, like what you drink. But always be open to trying new teas.

Tough call for today's question. I don't think I consciously keep a fave list of teas, but it is always on the back off my mind on some level.

Generally speaking ...
Sencha
Gyokuro
Matcha
Chinese green
Greener oolong

More specifically ...
Yutaka Midori followed by many other sencha
Kame Gyokuro followed by a short list of gyo
Hmm, no fave matcha really
Long Jing and many other Chinese greens
Fujian TKY Masters from Adagio followed by many others

Oh, began the TD with a really nice home blend of YM Kaoru LE and Sae Midori, both from the O-C. This came out spectacular. SweeTea enjoyed a share while Fuji and Shincha were loitering at the TeaTable.

Next ... :?:

Clear Fav... 2008 Single Bush Milan Dancong, but I only drink it once per year. I have 1kg in airtight canisters and my gf and I drink it each year to celebrate our anniversary :)

I've got favorites, sure.

1. Wuyi Yancha
2. Roasted Tie Guan Yin
3. Baozhong
4. Blacks--Assams or Keemuns, mostly
5. Hojicha or genmaicha

Only tea so far today is Rishi's organic Yi Congou again. I'm nearing the end of the package, ohnoes.

I've got a top three but I feel silly about them because they aren't necessarily the best of the best, they are just sort of my comfort teas.

Aged Pu-ers rank in my top. I'm still tasting different ones though to decide which is my favorite.
Then pure and plain licorice root.
Then I have a raspberry lychee green tea.

Those are my not very refined top three.
