Good TeaDay one and all! You are all invited to TeaDay. Please come in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed and rated personal TeaDays. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. As your TD progresses, is your tea accompanied by food ... so for each tea you have today, is it served with food of any kind???!!! Update throughout the TD. You get three votes, so if your tea/food pairing changes, you can have multiple votes.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay, with or without food. Bottoms up.

Re: Monday TeaDay 6/7/10 FoodDay, yes or no?
No food with the last tea of the day, some Korean hydrangea leaf tea. Before that, there was some Mao Xie oolong, with a small meal; Ya Bao wild camellia buds, without a meal; 2007 Autumn Xi-Zhi Hao "Pu Zheng Yuan Cha", with a snack; and started with the Tenryu Misakubo Shincha, with breakfast. I have tea more often than a meal, but often accompany meals with tea.

I enjoy morning tea sometimes with biscuits, but I'm usually disinclined to have tea with a meal for fear of the food flavors overpowering the taste of the tea. Maybe this is why restaurants get away with serving hot colored water in their pots.

Breakfast with plenty of tea. Late morning and afternon tea with no tea, dinner with pu-erh and my nightcap puerh w/o food.
As for colored water in Chinese restaurant, I bring some pu-erh leaves and put them into the pot. Honest.

No tea with food here. I am more likely to have a cup right after I eat rather than during the meal.
No tea yet, but probably some yunnan on the way to work.

I don't drink hot tea with food, although I do drink iced "tea" (like Arizona) as an accompaniment. I don't want the flavors to mix and become unpleasant... I've had a couple of bad experiences.
Keemun tea right now. Mmm.

Yes, I had tea with my breakfast this morning, but don't always drink it with food. Usually it's a stand-alone enjoyment!
Lover's Leap Ceylon this morning with breakfast. Haven't decided on my work tea yet.

Nah, usually I drink the teas on their own and have snacks in between the tea sessions. And a good meal after the last tea of the day
.
Today... Kabuse Houjicha, Kukicha and two different pu'erhs!

No food w/first tea today. Tried Mangalam FTGFOP 1 - Assam - 1st Flush 2010 from Lochan Teas. It was my initial experience with 1st Flush Assam so I have no comparison with other 1st Flush Assams. Compared to other Assams that I have enjoyed drinking, the leaves were a bit "greener" looking. The taste was a bit more astringent than I care for; I drank the 1st half cup w/o milk, then added a drop of milk to take the slight "bite" off. Won't be a favorite. No food with it.
Next tea will be a black, with breakfast. I do drink tea with meals, after meals, in between meals, etc.

My first tea of the day is almost always matcha, and I have it with my 1st course of breakfast - usually a toasted rice cake topped with almond butter and fresh fruit, drizzled with just a little bit of raw, organic honey. Then I'll typically have a sencha (or shincha heh heh) with 2nd course breakfast - oatmeal topped with toasted nuts, fresh fruit, granola, and rice milk.
Then usually no tea until after dinner - white or herbal.
No tea yet today. But matcha and 1st course breakfast soon!

I drink tea whenever I want tea, eating or not. I'm not bothered by "flavor contamination," I guess.
Huang Jin Bolero this afternoon.

I always drink tea with or just after food, my stomach doesn´t tolerate tea well if it´s empty.

Re: Monday TeaDay 6/7/10 FoodDay, yes or no?
I usually have tea right after eating because of the preparation or completely on its own, but I'm not entirely opposed to having food with tea. Today I had a tisane with my food because I was already making it when my aunt decided she wanted to have lunch. I ended up with a chocolaty tisane to drink with my salad and hummus, which actually wasn't gross like I thought it might be.
Re: Monday TeaDay 6/7/10 FoodDay, yes or no?
I never drink hot tea with food, as I usually want to concentrate fully on the tea. However, I often drink iced tea with food.
No tea yet today, pretty busy. Craving some darjeeling though, that'll be next.

Re: Monday TeaDay 6/7/10 FoodDay, yes or no?
Began the TD with tea sans food, next tea sans food, and last tea sans food. This is typical for me though. Rarely drink tea and eat except at a sushi bar or just generally eating out.
Began the TD with Sae Midor from O-Cha, rich and full! SweeTea certainly liked it while Fuji and Shincha paid the TeaTable a visit.
Next up, Shincha Fukamushi from Hibiki-an ... think I finally figured this one out.
And currently Shincha Tradtional from Hibiki-an as well ... also think I figured this one out.
Great TD, but so little food!
