Best portable mug/vessel

by plant partaker » Jun 7th, '10, 01:57

I was going to buy a mug today, but it was plastic and wasn't sure if I should. I didn't want to spend money on something that would just make my tea taste like plastic. What do you TC members carry your tea in when you're on the go?

A Stanley 1 quart stainless vacuum bottle is my on-the-go choice.

And sometimes my yunomi accompanies the thermos in a little basket.

You can find them at hardware stores, target, amazon. Google stanley vacuum bottle.

I use a double-walled hot beverage thermos type thing. It's metal and has a plastic screw-on lid and a rubber grip in the middle.

I'm not normally a customer at Starbucks, but I saw this and really liked it:

I brew tea up in a pot or in a tasting cup, then pour into the container and go.

Yep, that specific one was in Japan for their sakura line. I'm sure you can find non-pink tumblers in Starbucks.

Aya, that's very cute!

I prefer an insulated stainless "water bottle" because I like to take a larger amount usually. I also have a couple very nice insulated glass ones. But with the glass, obviously, you must be careful.

I have one similar to this:

But you can find anything here - just refine your search:

like for mugs:

Stainless steel in general. I have a stainless steel thermos but it's not insulated. As far as the tea, I am not sure. What have you ordered from them? I have had there jasmine pearl, there roasted mate, and there midnight blue tisane. I don't need Japanese greens and I was looking for a tea that I haven't had. I've mostly ordered from adagio I don't want black teas. I have pu erh on the way. Randomly pick for me
