Monday TeaDay 7/19/10 Think about it, choose?

by Chip » Jul 19th, '10, 01:01

Greetings everyone, young and not so young, new and older members, well ... everyone, welcome to another TeaDay! I hope you will drop in and share what is in your cup with us throughout the day.

This weekend we discussed whether we were tea or teaware collectors. You can vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. A fun and introspective topic. On an average day, do you spend more time thinking about/choosing your FOOD or TEA for the day??? Give it some thought, but not too much as you have food and tea to think about. Of course, please share!

I am looking forward to sharing thoughts on food and tea today. Bottoms up.

I qualified this, as time spent thinking about each per each time I have it. So I am not taking into account the fact that I eat 2-3 times a day, while some days (horrible days) I only have tea once.

Unless I am craving a specific tea, I often spend time browsing though my teas for 20-30 minutes, which is more me staring at the respective box I am considering: Puerh, or Non-Puerh, and just trying to have one jump out at me.

Whereas food is much easier for me to decide most of the time.

It's a tie, since I don't really think that much about either one of them.

No tea for a while yet, but probably some aged dong ding later :).

Happy Birthday John!

Hope your special day is full of surprises and lots of tea!

Geez, I was there when Chip came up with the question today, and I still have to give it more serious thought.
Ahh, never mind, Tea Hands Down!!!!

Ugh, left my lunch at home along with my tea , YIKES, waiting for the 'dts' to set in!

Have a wonderful TeaDay everyone.

Leaning towards Tea.

I like food, but my every day food is pretty much the same, day after day.

Whereas, with my Tea, I'm always thinking about the next cup and what I want to try for the first time, or what I want to re-visit for a second chance, or what I want because I love the particular Tea!!! :D

Finished my fantastic sample of Hattialli Golden Lion , this morning and not an hour later the doorbell rang, announcing my one kilo purchase from Lochan Teas. This is the Second Flush Assam that I fell in love with. Highly recommend both the Tea and the vendor. :)

BTW, Lochan Teas have free shipping for a limited time!

Food wins...tea I tend to just grab whatever I´m in the mood for...food is a bit more complicated because I have to check if I actually have the stuff to cook what I´m in the mood for, and if not figure out something similar or decide on something else.

I have to spend more time thinking about food. Tea is easier because just about everything I have at home is good, and of course it's all healthy.

O-Cha Yame Gyokuro for breakfast.

Planning on sampling OTTI #4 Shincha for lunch - as it just arrived in the mail today!

I'm leaning towards food, I like to cook and eat, so I often think of what to buy, prepare, eat that is healthy yet delicious, etc...Although lately I have been thinking about tea a lot too lol, my daughter says I am obsessed with tea now, so that's why I voted leaning towards food. :) I had a pu-erh this morning then a cup of apricot honeybush tea and now I'm going to make some white peach tea for this afternoon...

Got some tea in the mail today, so it was a rather quick decision as to what to open up.

Happy Birthday JBaymore!

Usually more thought would go to food. For tea, I have many to choose from, but usually have a good idea what I want when I open my cabinet to brew.

Now when it's time to order some tea, I can take days browsing the web to put an order together :).

Started the day off with black dragon pearls. Late morning was some very nice YM Classic from O-cha. This afternoon, white peony.

'Leaning toward food' since I am the main cook in my house and usually decide what's for dinner every night. Although I just picked up a TeaSource order from the post office, so tea is definitely on my mind right now!

Happy Birthday JBaymore!
Hope it's a great day!

Happy Birthday John.
May you perceive the miracle of your life
Easily, healthfully,
Joyfully.

Best possible health to you

May you be at peace and some ease.

Food!
Lately my tea decisions are very straight forward, not time consuming.
Matcha first, one of the shinchas second, puerh later sometimes.
Cheers.
